Do I need to repeat myself. Slavery and guns existed long before the 2A was made a right of the people. Those slavers enforced slavery using firearms pre and post 2A. The existence of the 2A and the right to bear arms was applied to its citizens. Unfortunately, southern democrat slavers viewed Africans as less than human and non-citizens. Therefore to imply that the 2A should have stopped Tyranny is illogical and is a mis-representation of the intent of the 2A.

However, let's be reminded that it was the terrible Civil War that cost anywhere from 600,00 to 700,000 lives where men fought, using guns, to abolish and end slavery. And many of those men who fought, joined the union army, carrying with them their own firearm to eventually end the tyranny of Slavery.

Now, the Black community has the opportunity, if they choose, to legally own and possess a firearm to protect themselves and if they choose, to fight against a future potential tyranny. Yet the many in the black community choose to engage in urban gangs thuggery killing each other and their communities.

The war was about slavery. The South seceded and went to war with the North to defend slavery. Lincoln and the North's intention however was to restore the Union. Ending slavery was an after thought and war time decision.
