Has Trump been conned into working toward a despotic cashless society? Sure seems that way

Sounds to me like they’re only phasing out gov check payments, not doing away with cash. Big difference. If anything, this reduces costs and waste within the fed gov by eliminating an antiquated paper process of payment. How is that bad?

If you are saying that there are inherent dangers in a “cashless society,” I don’t disagree. There are.

But I also believe that there will always also be a “cash based” societal alternative.

Yes, there are dangers. The loss of financial privacy is very real, and would allow nefarious folks in government to track and know how you spend every dime, in addition to knowing your personal and sensitive information, which becomes an open book and poses significant risks, especially those of a political nature if you are not “politically correct”.

Let us not forget how members of the Canadian Freedom Convoy had their bank accounts frozen by government, and were not even charged with any crimes, but suffered such consequences for participating in a political protest.

And remember Julian Assange (Wikileaks), when multiple financial institutions blocked donations to him following pressure from our government officials?

Moving to a cashless society would fling open the door and encourages nefarious folks in government, to enforce political correctness by shutting down your ability to engaging in financial transactions if you dare to show political dissent. And that is why this conversation is of the utmost importance.

John Adams said, in 1775, “Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud.” It is the only thing a people determined to be free can do. Republics have often failed, and have been succeeded by the most revolting despotisms; and always it was the voice of timidity, cowardice, or false leaders counseling submission, that led to the final downfall of freedom. It was the cowardice and treachery of the Senate of Rome that allowed the usurper to gain power, inch by inch, to overthrow the Republic. The history of the downfall of Republics is the same in all ages. The first inch that is yielded to despotism - the first blow, dealt at the Constitution, that is not resisted - is the beginning of the end of the nations ruin.” ___ An excerpt from the “Old Guard”

Let us be on guard and make certain that "cash remains king".

PHASING OUT PAPER CHECKS: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to modernize how the government handles money, switching from old-fashioned paper-based payments to fast, secure electronic payments.

• The Order mandates that, effective September 30, 2025, the Federal government will cease issuing paper checks for all disbursements, including intragovernmental payments, benefits, vendor payments, and tax refunds.
• All executive departments and agencies must transition to modern, electronic funds transfer (EFT) methods like direct deposit, debit/credit card payments, digital wallets, and real-time transfers.
• Payments made to the Federal government, such as fees, fines, loans, and taxes, must also be processed electronically where permissible under existing law.

• Treasury will phase out physical lockbox services and expedite electronic collection of Federal receipts.

While the Trump Administration is 100% correct, and in perfect harmony with our Founder’s wisdom in using tariffs at our water’s edge to advance the best interests of America’s manufacturing base and having foreign manufactures paying for the privilege of doing business on American soil _ as one does at a flea marker when paying for their booth to sell their goods and wares and thus fill our national treasury _ our Founders would certainly view the Trump Administration’s move toward a cashless society as “. . . the mark of the Beast in Revelations . . . ” when they rejected allowing our government to make bank notes of any kind [which includes today’s Federal Reserve Notes] a “legal tender” in payment of debt SOURCE

Among the very consequences of the Trump Administration’s despotic move toward electronic banking and transactions are, it dissolves physical evidence of financial transactions, conducts trade in the shadow and not the substance, and relinquishes absolute control over every individual and businesses’ financial dealings to the hidden hand of government through government’s alleged innocuous electronic banking scheme.

And what happens when folks in a current Administration are upset with your political views and the political party you have registered with? Will your electronic account be erased or meddle with? How about the manner in which you spend your money? Keep in mind folks in government will have total awareness of every dime you spend. Could you be punished for a particular purchase or it be electronically invalidated at the point of an attempted purchase?

The omnipotent government power connected to moving toward a cashless electronic-based financial transactions system is very real and suggests there is a dangerous and subversive operative in the Trump Administration.

“Of all the contrivances for cheating the laboring class of mankind, none have been more effectual than that which deludes them with paper money. This is the most effectual of inventions to fertilize the rich man’s field by the sweat of the poor man’s brow.”__Senator Daniel Webster, May 25th, 1832

It's called progress, whether we actually make progress or not. But, we have to accept the reality that at some point in the future, there will be no cash and everything will be electronic.

Lovers of liberty have to accept their enslavement to folks in government, corporations and those who wish to do them harm?

I'm just stating the facts. I don't think I would have put it quite the same way as you did. But, whether we like it or not, we are moving away from money into the complete digital world. I don't see how you are going to stop it. But, if people had any brains they would start burying their non paper money in the back yard like they used to do hundreds and even thousands of years ago.

"We" are moving? There appears to be a desire, by some nefarious actors, to con the American people into a cashless society where the loss of financial privacy is very real, and would allow folks in government to track and know how every citizen spends every dime, in addition to knowing their personal and sensitive information, which becomes an open book in a cashless society and poses significant risks, especially those of a political nature if you are not “politically correct”.

While you suggest a cashless society is a foregone conclusion, I and others will continue to sound the alarm to the dangers of shutting down cash transactions which presently go a long way for each of us to maintain essential autonomy and privacy from our "politically correct" authoritarians.

We have already moved closer to it. Credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, bank transfers, EBT cards, businesses paying you by card, government benefits going on cards, tax refunds being transferred to our accounts, and any number of other things. The process started long ago. Hell, you can even argue that paper money replaced cash hundreds of years ago. Not to mention bitcoin growing and growing.

There are dangers with absolutely everything done by government. This is not a good basis to knee jerk reaction against anything and everything it does.

I don't want digital money! I like having cash.
