Harvin Activated...

Get him BACK ??? NOW who's being sarcastic !!! ??? Best receiver on the team ??? He's definitely got the best publicist.

Get him back from injury. A poor way to put it. :)

Yes, when he's healthy, he's far and away the best receiver on Seattle. When healthy, Harvin is a top-10 NFL receiver. You're not seriously going to try and say Golden Tate or Doug Baldwin are that good, are you?

1. Plenty of not-so-good receivers have had a spectacular catch in their career. Sometimes even a pretty spectacular season. Remember Braylon Edwards? :eusa_whistle:

2. The catch against Green Bay is NOT a good example of Tate as a great receiver. Having half (or less) possession of a hail mary is not exactly a glowing recommendation of a receiver's skills. It wasn't a bad play by any means, but I'm certainly not about to start comparing him to Megatron because he was in on a very controversial play.

Calvin Johnson. Andre Johnson. Larry Fitzgerald. Brandon Marshal. Wes Welker. Demarious Thomas. Jordy Nelson. Dez Bryant. AJ Green. Vincent Jackson. These are all receivers, off the top of my head, better than Golden Tate. There are certainly more than this, including Harvin if he's healthy.

Which of the receivers I listed do you think Tate is superior to?

HUGGY should I start Percy Harvin in fantasy? How much action are the locals up there expecting to see from him?

It's a deep league and my only other options are DeAndre Hopkins, Greg Jennings, and Rashard Mendenhall.

That's a tough choice. I think you should go Hopkins or Jennings depending on the matchups.

Mendenhall is terrible, Ellington should be getting more carries. Harvin may only play a few snaps if he plays at all.

Of course, Andre Brown was expected to be very limited last week and he got 30 touches.

We don't really know fo show if Harvin will play on Sunday..

I'm not sure if there really is a "Percy Harvin"... They can do amazing shit with lasers these days.
I don't know if you've ever heard of Dave Mason, but...

..."you shoulda took more than you gave!"

This just in...and I DO mean JUST! I am listening to KJR sports radio in Seattle as I type this and the Fat assed "Softy" radio jock had the WR coach on a live interview a few seconds ago. He claims Harvin WILL play this weekend and the Fat Ass axeses him if Percy will be good for 183 yds and a TD and the coach responds... and I quote "At least".

I don't "get" the appeal of fantasy football. I like the "evil" smilie ... It shows how much heart and anger you can summon for this "sport".

It's like soccor without being able to use your feet.

OK...OK...I gotz Yo Backs... I know absolutely NOTHING about the fantastical football. I DO know plenty about the Seahawks.

I heard the WR coach say Harvin WILL play Sunday and GAURANTEED he will get 183 yards and a TD if that will help. What the other guys you axed about will do I haven't a clue.

I don't even know if the 411 I gave you means anything in your "sport". In the REAL world of football it means the Vikings will be embarrassed ...lose the game in a blowout..and thier messageboards will go crazy NOW having to split time between wanting to lynch Ponder and thier GM for trading Harvin.

One injury of note is that Richard Sherman has a hip injury and if he plays will probably be a step slower and not as quick on the breaks he needs to do to break up passes. If Defensive players matter I would latch on to Thomas and Thurmond as they will probably have opportunities for ints. Look for Sherman to "tip" an errant pass and either Thomas or Thurmond to get the int.

I will take the receiver whose team (10-1 Seattle) has the best record in all the NFL and none of the receivers you listed is on that best team and most are on either on losing teams or teams with barely .500 records.

Detroit's megadud leads his team to another defeat....brother! Lets put it this way, I would rather have a player (Tate) with one catch for 26 yards and a win than Johnson with 6 catches and 179 yards and a lost.

The proof in the puddin' is winning.

He's a poet.

Does he know it?

Fair question.

Harvin didn't fool anyone yesterday.

He had two touches of the pigskin.

Touch one. Wilson had no where else to throw it. The defender looked like he was eight feet tall. On a long third down with just a few minutes left in the first half Seattle was trading scores with the Vikings. RW looped the pass in the left flat high and it looked like it would be too far for any mortal to touch it let alone make a secure catch. But... Harvin is not a mere mortal. His legs propelled him like his dick was on fire ..he lept... just barely tipped the ball... to himself ...and with his other hand he pulled in the rock and sommersaulted to the turf a completion on his first target a Seahawk.

Then tragedy strikes and our regular K O return guy is hit in the head and is seeing stars. It is near the end of the first half. 38 seconds are left on the clock. No worries... Enter Percy Harvin. He gathers the K O deep in the end zone and 58 yards later delivers Russell Wilson the ball on the opponents 46. Wilson don't need no 2 bucks to buy a TD.. with change left on the official timepiece Wilson takes the team down into the promised land with a dime to the corner and another Seattle WR making another spectacular catch.

Welcome to Seattle Mr. Harvin. I think you will fit in nicely thank you.

Does the fact that the Lions lost the game make Calvin Johnson anything other than the best receiver in football?

Does the fact that Tate is on a winning team make him a good receiver?

I wasn't talking about which teams are best. Seattle is one of the top teams in the NFL, if not the best. I'd still rather have Megatron than any receiver on the team. :)

I will take the player/players who helps their team to win games week after week. Obviously Johnson is not that person.

Or perhaps what is obvious is that Seattle has a better TEAM than Detroit.

If you think Seattle would be worse off with Calvin Johnson instead of Golden Tate, I question if you ever watch football. :eusa_whistle:

It's as though you think Mark Ingram was a better receiver than Jerry Rice in 90 because the Giants won the Super Bowl instead of the 49ers.

Or perhaps what is obvious is that Seattle has a better TEAM than Detroit.

Its players like Tate that make Seattle better, plain and simple.

I watch Johnson and I watch Tate. I don't see much difference because Detroit has to go to Johnson as they have little of anything else, Seattle doesn't have to go to Tate as often because they have a group of receivers who can go get the ball. And as a team group of receivers I will take Seattle receivers any day over Johnson. Why? Because they are leading a team to victory every weekend.

It's as though you think Mark Ingram was a better receiver than Jerry Rice in 90 because the Giants won the Super Bowl instead of the 49ers.

Mark Ingram....Jerry Rice? I don't see the connection.

if ray rice were the son of jerry rice.

now that would be an awesome connection.

then both mark ingram sr and jerry rice would have a son who is RB in the NFL.

Seattle is better because of a)their defense b)their running game c)their coaching d)Russel Wilson.......all of that before their receivers.

Yes, Detroit often goes to Johnson because their other receivers aren't so good. Of course, he also catches the ball more often than not, in double and triple coverage.

Golden Tate isn't usually leading his team to victory. He helps, but rarely if ever is he putting the team on his shoulders, so to speak.

Mark Ingram was a receiver for the Giants. In 1990 they won the Super Bowl. Jerry Rice played that year as well. Was Ingram a better receiver for leading his team to victory? Do you see the connection now?

I think quarterbacks get too much credit and blame for the state of their teams. I have rarely seen someone give that kind of credit to a receiver, and probably never to a second-tier (at best) guy like Golden Tate.

I can't believe someone is seriously putting Tate over Johnson. Hell, Johnson isn't even the demonstrative diva so many receivers are today. There's a reason Johnson is widely considered the best wide receiver in the game today.
