Tell you a story. For years, growing up, I was told that my maternal great-grandmother was a Cherokee Indian. They even have a picture from some time in the early 20th century that is supposed to be her and my great-grandfather.

Then lo and behold, my niece got a DNA test and not a sliver of Native American DNA. My sister did the same, and nope, still no Native American DNA.

And this is only going back three generations of family tradition.

So if someone has been told by "Family Tradition" that you can trace you lineage back to Moses, who probably never existed, I have to take that with a grain of salt.
