As a Christian I grew up observing the fun and wacky and entertaining concept of Halloween and was never shamed by anybody because I did. And I am pretty sure that there was no aspect of the fun and wholesome Halloween that we observed that tempted a single kid into dabbling in the occult or whatever demonic influences exist out there.

And I was blessed to grow up in a time when there wasn't all the meanness and cruelty out there. The whole neighborhood got into the spirit of it and we were treated to homegrown apples, peaches, pears, homemade candies, cookies, and the most wonderful treat--homemade popcorn balls. Halloween parties were wholesome and fun with parents making sure the kids had a blast.

We never saw it as a pagan holiday either. It was taught to us as "All Hallow's Eve", the eve of the Christian "All Saints Day" recognizing and remembering the saints and martyrs of the Christian faith.

I don't care for the scary movies, especially the bloody slasher ones. But I do own the entire set of Harry Potter movies and enjoy the creativity of them as well as the principles of ethics and morality that they teach despite the setting of the unreal that does not exist. except in pleasurable imagination.

I do not judge anyone who chooses not to participate in Halloween or other such imaginary things. Nor do I judge anyone who does.

Each to their own. But the problems I think are not the holiday or the imagination or whatever but a mean and hateful culture that has been allowed to infiltrate the process.

As Christians we should try to change that as much as we can.

One thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other. And all the posts completely non sequitur to the OP are unlikely to change anybody's mind. They do come across as judgmental however. The Bible has a lot to say about that too.
