Govts & Officials Are Warning of Coming Food Shortages So Why Are They Paying Farmers to Stop Producing Food?

No store I have been to in a three state area had empty shelves. There were empty shelves in 2020.
the only thing you might of had some shortages of in 2020 was TP, because of runs because of lockdowns

you must not get out much though…since. xiden took office all sort of food has been in short supply.

Not where I live are there any shortages since 2021.

good for you, the rest of the nation is suffering from your selfish choice to put your party over country and this Nov you’ll see the consequences

My party has drugs, sex, and rock-n-roll, no politics are allowed. I know reality is something you manipulate the truth of because of being a party stooge, free yourself and become independent.

sex? your party can’t even define what a woman is

drugs? likely a lot…especially with xiden open border pro cartel policies

The Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) was created in 1985 under Republican president Reagan. In recent years, the number of acres enrolled in CRP has fallen, because USDA’s rental payments have not been competitive with the open market.

For which they are effectively buying the water that the rice farmers otherwise would be using to save the minnows. I would never want to be in charge of California's water system. There are too many people in too many places with sweetheart deals at the expense of everybody else to contend with. That was fine when they had surpluses. In a severe drought people having the right to make unlimited water draws off the entire state supply not such a good deal for the state after all. 100 years of payola and kickbacks biting them in the arse.

The main problem with CA's water is that Jerry "Daddy Issues" Brown cancelled the water project plan that would have continued to expand the system. Since the 1970s, the population has doubled with no corresponding increase in capacity. Exacerbating the problem is the Environazi agenda which has resulted in draining water into the ocean to save a smelt.

This has never happened before in America.. Ive never seen bare shelves in my life until Biden.

The more a country moves towards socialism, the more this occurs. Why do we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over?

"We," don't keep repeating the same mistakes...the Left keeps repeating the same mistakes.......over and over again....

Let's be honest.....the excuse about the smelt was simply a fig leaf to reduce the ability of California to grow......the Left doesn't want growth, in population or resources....more people are harder to control, make it more difficult to build Utopia........so the Left works at reducing humanities ability to grow and prosper...

BINGO. Their agenda is unpopular, so they use Lawfare to push it.

Your 2nd link is from May of 21, nobody was worried about food shortages back then.

If you wish to have any credibility you should find out if they actually added in acres to the CRP program.
Yeah, I've looked before to find anything on whether the subsidies to leave ground fallow were "reduced," and I don't see it. But my recollection is that subsidies are set yearly with "the farm bill." And there's not just "shortages," but global warming makes raising animals more expensive and causes draining of water resources. And we can no longer treat farmers west of the miss the same as those east of it.

I am guessing that keeping an almond tree growing in the effing desert requires a lot more water a day than you and I will use combined today.

For sure, not to mention the amount of water to make Yuma Az the "lettuce capital of the world"

There is a shortage in the watershed, you can't get around it. And given the fires, growth seems sort of .. not on point.

On a one year basis, yes. The point of having storage is to fill the reservoirs during wet years and save up water for dry ones. We used to do that. Jerry and the Environazis stopped it.

And your point is? Agriculture feeds people and benefits humans far more than a mythical bait fish.
