You can post a petition on the government's website. Once it achieves 100,000 votes or more, it must be discussed on the Commons floor.

Usually it takes ages to get to 100,000 votes, and that's for the very few that get there.

How about a petition to sack Starmer and call another general election, surely it'll take some time to surpass 100,000 votes!!

The link refreshes every 5 seconds, so it displays up-to-date vote counting.

Could this work?

I think there would have to be a vote of no confidence from within the Parliament itself. I think l am correct in saying this?

Normally, they're read out and then it usually gets a quick government response, like a quick, "No chance".

But I can see this one getting quite a number of votes behind it, so much so, Farage etc. al. will have a field day. Whether it leads to a vote of no confidence etc.. slim chance, but it's a slap in Labour's face and the faces of those that voted for the clown show.

But it can’t go on this way.

It’s like lemmings jumping off the cliff.

I was just checking the employers NI on a part timer who is paid £800 per month, £9,600 year. The threshold is £9,100 and the rate is 13.8%. So the employer currently pays £69 per year.

From April 2025, the threshold drops to £5,000 and the rate increases to 15%. So the employer will now pay £690 per year.

Now scale the figures up for those on thousands per month!!

The petition says "Only British citizens or UK residents have the right to sign", but I signed it anyway.

Would that be considered "foreign election meddling"? :laughing0301:

Petitions run for six months, the deadline is 20 May 2025 to sign it, so started on 20 November 2024, four days ago.

I wonder how many will use multiple email accounts and other postcodes, such as works addresses etc.. lol

Wouldn't it be so funny if it achieved more votes than Labour got in the election!!

Desperation writ large.
Quite a number of years ago on a forum, we were saying that the manifesto of political parties should be signed into law before the election, so the winning party's pledges are enacted.

With this utter lying bunch of bastards, it seems a legit idea.

The petitions are just theatrical, but it slaps a pie in the face of the lying bastard Starmer. I can't wait for Farage's reaction in the Commons come May 2025, lol.

I bet you're chuffed with the lying bastard.

I didnt vote for him but his obvious retort is that the tories left a worse mess than he expected. They covered up shit.
How do you propose they clear up that mess ? Farage doesnt have any suffestions.

No one has after three Months, that's just how ludicrous the whole thing is.

According to the far right nutters the Tories didn't leave a 14 year trail of utter carnage, it was all fantastic, same as you i didn't vote Labour but these rightwing head cases have a screw loose.

What I like is that they seem to think a petition signed by Superman and Donald Duck has equal weight with a general electon.
Its child like in its approach.
Im prepared to give them a couple of years to see some improvment.I think the long decline is hard to reverse,
Taxing millionaire farmers is a good start.

Sounds like you were gullible to that lie.

Address the inefficiencies and costs on public owned infrastructure, reduce chiefs and increase the Indians. Reduce the amount sent to Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, and have all four on the same per head. Come out of the European court of Rights and do a Trump; round up all the illegals and asylum seekers and ship them out, put the British first (you will hate that).

Sort welfare, needs to be a diminishing system based on what you paid into it. Make relatives liable to care for family members and not local councils. Obviously those that have no family, or family in a similar position will require state help.

Have a PAYG mentality. The more things you use, the more you pay. So for example, scrap VED and put it on fuel. The more you drive, the more fuel you buy, the more tax you pay. Put VED on electric cars. Scrap this climate saving shite. Shake up the NHS. We pay half in tax for healthcare than Americans pay. So PAYG again. You use it for dialysis, you should contribute more because you're using the NHS more than others. So I would rewrite the NHS rules. Miss a doctors appointment, you pay £50, no payment, then no more appointments until you pay it.

I would reduce council tax and local government staff. I would scrap an awful lot of red tape to achieve that. Having to tell your councils how many ducks and chickens you own because of bird flu? Scrap that stupid idea.

Tax the Welsh for wasting oxygen.
