"Government" is Not the Problem.

What IS The United States Constitution, if not a contract we are all agreeing to be governed by? :dunno:

If your right to keep weapons in your house is based on the Second Amendment to The US Constitution, you have weapons because you have permission from "The Government".

Government is a tool. Monkey Business is the problem.

:smoke:

What do you fail to understand, the government didn't write the Constitution, it was created by the Constitution, written by the STATES.
Funny statement... But I believe you are mistaken. The constitution was written and enacted by the powers at be. The ones who controlled the military, the ones who governed the territory and people. It only became law of the land because these people who governed... Aka the government, made it so
You need to brush up on your history.

I sorry you are so ignorant of history, at that time the States ruled their own territory and ran their own militias, they had a pretty loose confederation at the time, but each State was sovereign and still are with the exception of the limited powers they ceded to the feds. Why do you think the States can change the Constitution at will with no involvement from the feds?
I get it, was still written by the governing powers.

You all are funny, your freedom is an illusion only permissible by the government. Luckily it is a fluid group of elected officials with checks and balances rather than a ruling dictator, king or family. But make no mistake, you rent the land you live on from the Gov. You rent the right to do business and commerce with the governments dollars, and you rent the right to live free as long as you abide by their contract (laws)... Don't believe me, go break the laws... don't pay your income, business, or property taxes... See what happens

I don't have any property taxes.
Good for you

Forgot to say, I do own property. No mortgage, no taxes. So tell me, am I still renting from the government?
How do you get away with that?

I don't get away with anything, my home isn't taxed.

Yep all 13 of them.

Not a central government. You DON'T get it.

I do get it... It was a government made up of the states and they expanded to a central government... Either way the ones that control and govern are the people made the laws. Brilliant document they created btw. Why are we even arguing over this?

That's amazing. Well congrats to you for being one of the few free property owners in this land!

They knew they needed a central government to provide for the common defense. You miss the point.

I don't know, maybe because facts matter and way too many Americans don't know the facts. The federal government isn't sovereign, because the States can change it or even abolish it at will, that fact says the States are the sovereigns.

Sounds very realistic... Hasn't Texas been talking about succeeding for a while?

I own a house in your state... Paid thousands in taxes. Forgive me if I don't believe you

At life... Not at spelling

Not really, but the governor is pushing hard for an Article 5 convention to rein in the feds.

It is extremely frightening to me how the progressive mindset is heading. Over the past 8 years, these people have become completely unhinged from reality. They now, openly and brazenly declare our Constitution is irrelevant and means absolutely nothing. Of course, many of us have realized for many years this seemed to be what they thought but now they are openly stating it and proud to do so. It's breathtaking. Absolutely stunning.

I don't know whether it's the recent roll of "social victories" they are on, with the gay marriage thing, gays in the military, trannies in the bathrooms... maybe it's the feckless Republican leadership cowering in the corner afraid to confront Obama? Or the spate of SCOTUS rulings that have gone their way... For some reason, they have become unbearably fascist and totalitarian.

I remember 10 years ago, saying the progressives were Marxist Socialists and people acting like I was some kind of nutball for making such a claim. People aren't laughing at that anymore... at least not the ones who know what Marxist Socialism is. It's becoming more and more apparent to the average American, just how dangerous these people are. They are literally doing everything they can think of to destroy this country from the inside out.
