GOP Unanomously Nixes Presidential Debates - Says they want FREE and FAIR Debates

I don't know. What are your thoughts on the media outlets and personalities conducting one-sides debates, putting forth "loaded questions" to only one side, giving one candidate more time, and not allowing the other candidate to respond?
What the hell do you think is happening now?

How about the time debate moderator CNN's Candy Crowley flat out lied about Obama calling Benghazi an act of terror when he actually spent two weeks lying to the American People attempting to spin the attack as a protest riot.

What a piece of shit he was...and Candy Crowley has disappeared fron the face of the Earth...good riddance to bad rubbish.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) voted Thursday to withdraw from the commission responsible for organizing presidential debates, taking a line from former President Trump, who has repeatedly leveled accusations of anti-Republican bias against the group.

The unanimous vote by the RNC effectively bars its presidential nominees from participating in events organized by the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), which has run such debates since 1988.

In a statement released shortly after the vote, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said that the GOP would “find newer, better debate platforms to ensure that future nominees are not forced to go through the biased CPD in order to make their case to the American people.”

“Debates are an important part of the democratic process, and the RNC is committed to free and fair debates,” she said. “The Commission on Presidential Debates is biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage.”

What are your thoughts on a major American party not even being able to debate their side of the issues?
But they can, and will debate, just not in a forum controlled by the cpd

Presidential debates are hundreds of years old, so apparently your opinions suck.
He's not wrong. I mean, it's pretty much the same thing every time. A lot of mud slinging, arguing, interrupting, the questions pretty much never change, and neither do the answers. The dems will claim they won, and the repubs will too.

All the issues are hashed out in rallies town halls, and interviews long before the debates begin, and all the questions have already been asked 10 different ways, so really, you don't learn anything new about the candidate. Really, it's just like a political boxing match is what it boils down to, televised strictly to entertain the masses, while we watch 2 old people argue with each other for 2 hours.

They haven’t been debates you doofus……they have been the democrat party and democrat party controlled moderators attacking the Republican candidate

Another huge issue is that the debates do not include third parties if the third party candidates do not have enough percentage points in the "Polls". That's absolute bullshit. The American public should hear middle ground opinions on issues.

After seeing how the Liberal press (including Fox's Chris Wallace) tried to blatantly screw Trump in 2020 I don't blame the Republicans for saying "fuck this shit".

It was wrong how they allowed Trump to talk anytime he wanted and interrupt his opponent endlessly
This is all about trump. The repub party has become his lapdog. He doesn't want to be asked hard questions. He wants the opportunity to go off on his mindless tirades.

Has anybody noticed how the same people who do not want free and fair elections are also the ones who do not want free and fair debates?

Stacking the deck is all that matters to uber-partisan sheeple.

They should get on USMB and let us go at em
It's funny that you mention that because Slate used to make its writers pop into the forums once in awhile and get beat up. Even Hitchens had to jump in there once in awhile and have his ass handed to him. Man those days were fun!
