GOP Senator Tillis: Trump Move Beyond Stupid

That’s just a strange way to frame it. Do you think we are currently colonizing America?
No, Britain did, but the colonists kicked the British out. More broadly, many European countries colonized both North and South America, but all of them are gone now except for Denmark.

Where do you get this crap from? Here is a fact check on your statement…

1. "Britain first colonized America"
This is historically inaccurate.
  • Spanish Precedence:
    Spain
was the first European power to establish a permanent presence in the Americas, beginning with Christopher Columbus in 1492.
  • Other Early Powers:
    France
and the Dutch also established colonies (such as
    Quebec
    and
    New Netherland
) around the same time or before several major British settlements.
  • British Timeline: The first permanent English colony,
    Jamestown
, was not established until 1607, more than a century after Spanish colonization began.

2. "The colonists kicked the British out"
This is partially accurate but applies only to a specific part of the British Empire.
  • United States Independence: In the American Revolutionary War (1775–1783), the 13 original colonies successfully broke away to form the United States.
  • Remaining British Presence: Britain did not leave the Americas entirely. It retained control of
    Canada
for over another century and still maintains several British Overseas Territoriestoday, including
    Bermuda
    , the
    Cayman Islands
    , and the
    Falkland Islands
    .

3. "All of them are gone now except for Denmark"
This is inaccurate. As of 2026, several European nations still hold sovereign territory in the Americas:

Actually Trump is the only one making a move to take it for his own interest. Russia and China narratives are strawman. Dont be a fool
/----/ It's not for Trump's interest; it's for America's interest. Ya big dope.

Not really, I haven’t seen anything that shows public support for taking Greenland. It’s either not supported or being dismissed as Trump bluster by the majority of citizens.

Trump wants to do this for access to minerals. For enrichment for our largest corporations. Same as Venezuela. All filters down to personal enrichment and a narcissistic legacy play.

You poor thing.

Doddering grandpa Don just told the audience in Davos he will not try to take Greenland by force. He really let Putin down.

'Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) called tariffs President Donald Trump said he would impose on countries that oppose a potential U.S. takeover of Greenland "bad for America, bad for American businesses, and bad for America's allies."

Tillis, who as of late has been a frequent critic of Trump and his administration, said it's "beyond stupid" that members of Trump's inner circle are pushing for the move.'

The problem is Tillis is a tiny minority among Republicans – the majority of whom continue to support Trump’s criminal regime.

Tillis was a very weak Republican in State Government.
NC Republicans were quite apprehensive when he managed to win the Senate Seat
for good reason

As opposed to buying them from a Communist dictatorship.
Yeah, that's your brilliant plan. You dope.
