It has no financial or security value to Denmark or the rest of Europe, but under US control would contribute significantly to the security of North America and northern Europe. It would also prevent China from cornering the market on rare earth minerals, which would give China enormous leverage over the rest of the developed world. Thee simply is no rational basis for these Europeans countries to refuse to enter negotiations on the transfer of Greenland to the US.
