The New York Democrat told reporters his goal is two-fold: to jolt Americans into realizing the import of a possible unilateral strike against Iraq, which he opposes, and "to make it clear that if there were a war, there would be more equitable representation of people making sacrifices."

"I truly believe that those who make the decision and those who support the United States going into war would feel more readily the pain that's involved, the sacrifice that's involved, if they thought that the fighting force would include the affluent and those who historically have avoided this great responsibility," Rangel said.

Rangel wanted those who supported the Iraq War to have their kids do the fighting

Blanket Eligibility without merit, otherwise as is being interpreted or based upon this word equitable is somehow becoming an entrenched thing now ?........ Are you just this stupid or what ?? The word equitable being used wrongfully is as Anti-freedom and Anti-American as it is written and/or is being used intentionally in a wrongful way by the Demoncrat's.

Point being - It is being used as a hammer instead of a pencil.

First off we have a meritocracy that makes sure that people for all intended purposes "EARN" their way up the ladders of success, just as it should be. Now if they reach back to help someone, then how great are they, but they shouldn't be stolen from by that someone, and that's a fact.

Putting people ahead of the earned who did what was expected of them to do, and this regardless of what the task in learning is (unless we are dealing with very gifted people that are smart enough to by pass the level's of expectancy), has been the most unfair crock of bull shite you Democrat's have ever contrived or contemplated into becoming a reality in this country.

Yes government can make things fair to some extent, otherwise by giving the people public access to public schooling, security and laws that protect people from abuse and violence while in those places, and provide public roads to get there, public buses to use to get there, and things like that, but the curriculum should always be controlled by the parent's who get together to decide what's best for their children, otherwise when it comes to the content of their learning material's and such, and that is what builds a unified strong America together. CONSENSUS.

You Democrat's have destroyed the opportunity concepts, and much of the merit based society we promote, so hopefully it is going to get changed back now. No one is against helping the poor of struggling in society, but when government begins stealing for them, then it all can go straight to hell.
