GOP Lawmakers Come Out Against The FCC’s Role In Kimmel Axing.

And I'm saying I don't ******* care.

The government has actually done NOTHING. All they have done is talk, and at least the Republicans do that out in the open, not behind closed doors like with COVID shit and facebook that took years to be exposed.

And has been confirmed by Zuckerberg by the way.

Ok, I agree with that. So let me ask you, are we here to debate and discuss because we just want our side to win? Or are we here trying to uphold the constitution and further the concept of freedom and individual liberty?

I would think the right thing to do would be to admit when we are wrong, and hope the other side will do the same.

Here are the comments made by chairman Carr:

Hours before ABC, which is owned by the Walt Disney Co., pulled Kimmel off the air, Carr appeared on conservative commentator Benny Johnson’s podcast, saying that broadcasters are “entirely different than people that use other forms of communication.”

They have a license granted by us at the FCC that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest,” Carr told Johnson. “I mean, look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct to take actions, frankly on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.” Carr likened Kimmel’s comment to “news distortion,” which is against FCC’s rules for broadcasters.

To uphold the constitution, freedom and liberty our side has to win. Or at least marginalize the hard left. We need a normal left back, and right now we don't have that.

The left can't admit when they are wrong.

Sure, but we have to do that by practicing the ideal we believe, no?

I agree, and we can do that by holding their feet to the fire, but not by breaking the beliefs that we hold to do it, right?

The left can't admit when they are wrong.

Agreed, and if we dont admit when we are wrong, were no better.

I agree we need to defeat the policies and ideas of the left, but we need to do it by following the laws and the words of the documents that we proclaim to believe in, not by turning our backs on everything we fight to protect.

(Good grief, im starting to sound just like Glen Beck lol)

So losing but holding our "principles" is better? That's RINO "loyal opposition" talk.

One of ours got murdered this week. If it was a lefty we would be on week two of riots right now. All the right is doing is using the left's own words to hang them in the public eye.

Enjoy losing.

So were going to win by breaking the rules...ok, now where does that leave us?

We're talking about the government getting involved with firing people..

Enjoy losing.

I hope we win, the right way.

So? The FCC isn't Congress. You want to add the President, and Judicial, the FCC, has to be by a Constitutional Convention or Convention of the States. You can't just say it's included because you want it to be. That would take a dictatorship in which Democrats want.
~~~~~~
The FCC was created by Congress. Like all agencies agencies still must report to Congress.
That is unless it's been weaponized by the president as done by Obama and Biden...
Whereas conservatives were investigated and persecuted and falsely convicted.
So were going to win by breaking the rules...ok, now where does that leave us?
Agreed.
You cannot make something wrong a right...
Also, let me add one more thing. Im not upset that kimmel got suspended, i mean he has the right to his opinion and freedom of speech as anyone else, but i also recognize that he has been a source of hate and division against the right, so im not sad about his removal, and as long as the decision was 100% ABCs choice, im fine with it, but if the government had any influence on it at all, thats just wrong.
Still fighting. When the other side wants to shut your side down, not just debate and compete with it, you have to fight back.
The government has already done that, just on the down low. At least with Trump you get it in your face. And right now it is just TALK.
We won't win if we don't realize we have to fight like the other side wants us gone.
And the Dems have been using the government bully pulpit for decades, and when our side just TALKS about maybe looking into it, you get the vapors over it and the other side smiles and laughs and knows you don't have the stomach for this fight.
Ok, so the cycle will never end I guess. We're locked in a perpetual battle. The left will be in power again one day. I wonder who they'll cancel.
Republicans are splitting on FCC Chair Brendan Carr’s pressure tactics. "We all should be very cautious" about regulating speech, one GOP senator told POLITICO.
A handful of prominent Republicans on Capitol Hill said they were worried about the implications of Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr pressuring a TV network to suspend late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
Their comments suggest an emerging split in the GOP over the party’s views on free speech.
We all should be very cautious,” said Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.). “The conservative position is free speech is free speech, and we better be very careful about any lines we cross in diminishing free speech.”
ABC suspended Kimmel indefinitely Wednesday over comments he made earlier in the week about Charlie Kirk’s assassination. The decision came after Carr warned ABC’s parent company, Disney, on a podcast that there could be consequences if Kimmel stayed on the air.
The right to Freedom of Speech is cast iron *****, live with it!
Kimmel was spreading disinformation
What did you want them to do?
He said Kirk was killed by a maga supporter
Which was a bold face lie and attempt to distort the news
So your concern is more about defending maga, than Kirks death?
Interesting.
Interesting.
I’m not defending maga, i am concerned about Kirk’s death and the radicalization his killer went through by lies from propagandists like Kimmel
Nope.
No it isn't.
We still have COVID spreading, you idiot. It's just mitigated by the human population adjusting to it, the deaths of those most susceptible to it. and viral mutation leading to less virulency.
Ok boomer.
Keep prognosticating your bullshit.
I don't have to... It's already happening.
Trump ratfucked the economy, just like he did last time, just like we all warned you he would.
Again, the 1st Amendment is clear. Congress shall not limit free speech. Doesn't say a thing about the FCC. It doesn't even say anything about the President or the Judicial. You want to change that, let's have a Constitutional Convention of a Convention of the States and change it. We could make some other changes as well. Are you all good for it?
An independent U.S. government agency overseen by Congress
