I disagree with your first sentence, and I use recent history as the example.

9/11 had a LOT of questions raised, as to the sheer incompetency and dubious actions of the Shrub & company. Then they use 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq. Despite that, Cheney warns that it could happen again if he and the Shrub are not re-elected.

The situation with Obama is totally different circumstances, as he's cleaning up the mess and tying up unfinished business.
