GOP Gets Their Wish - Unemployment is Up

Nobody was wishing for it. But you were warned it would happen. I guess warning is wishing in the mind of a liberal.

I was wondering how the libturds were going to spin the unemployment numbers to make them a problem for Republicans. Their ingenuity at diversion and deflection is truly astounding.

It's just got to be the problem of the GOP it's just got to be.

There may be a way for us to finance our Progressive Utopia and it will cost us nothing

Congratulations to all of you who want smaller government! 39,000 jobs were shed in June. Of course, private businesses only added 57,000 jobs, so the unemployment rate went up, but that's what smaller government looks like!

So again, Congratulations!

That June/11 increase to 9.2% does not reflect the true total of umemployed Americans as this percentage does not even include those who have simply given up on finding work or are underemployed, scraping to get by.”

Jobless rate January 2009 was 7.8%, May 2011, it was 9.1% and June 2011 it is 9.2%.

Obama's stimulus package didn't succeed with those so-called "shovel ready jobs, that weren't so shovel ready." He sold us a "bill of bads". Check out of many billions from the stimulus that was supposed to create jobs  went for broadband internet for rural counties that already had broadband."

"A new report says that $64 million in federal stimulus money meant to bring broadband to rural parts of Gallatin County was awarded to an area that already had ample access to high-speed Internet service.

"Of the 9,035 households in Opticom's proposed service area, the report's authors claim, only 136 are "unserved" by broadband, according to definitions established by the USDA's Rural Utilities Service, or RUS, which awarded the stimulus money through its Broadband Initiatives Program.

"Two other broadband projects were highlighted in the report, one in northwestern Kansas and another in northeastern Minnesota. Together, the three projects analyzed account for $231.7 million out of the $3.5 billion awarded by the RUS for rural broadband projects.

"According to the report, more than 85 percent of households in the three project areas already had access to existing broadband services."

Stimulus money for rural broadband was spent where it wasn't needed

"Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Congress allocated $7.2 billion to expand high-speed Internet service in areas with limited or no services. Of that, $4.7 billion went to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and $2.5 billion went to the Rural Utilities Service, part of the Department of Agriculture

"A study of broadband development projects in three states that received federal stimulus dollars shows that some of the government money is being used to duplicate services that already exist. "

It's a Capitalist problem, but why is it a problem? If the lazy Americans would get off their asses they could have a job or create a job. No one chained the lazy bastards down.

It takes money to create jobs. you can't give money to the poor and have them create jobs. It takes big money from the hated rich. Government oppression stops all new jobs.

Preaching that tired socialist myth? I can create a job for myself today without a dime of government help, so save your bullshitty for someone else. And I agree on government regulations of business. Get the government out of the situation and let the people take care of themselves through the courts with lawsuits.

Either I'm missing something or you chastised him for making the same point you did...

There's the socialist thinking. I never once mention gov ernment money. It's takes money from the rich in the private sector to create jobs.

The rest of us here know that a Government is not inherently evil. Even the Founding Fathers knew that. A Government can benefit an economy greatly, even if you disagree.

You are wrong. Government is inherently evil. Government is force. Human relations should never involve force unless it is absolutely required. The only justification for using it is to prevent others from using force. When you use force to achieve some other aim, you are violating the rights of the people you use it against.

Any private person who did what government does on a routine basis would be branded a criminal and locked away where they couldn't harm law abiding citizens.

Not at all, so you must be missing something. First off throwing money at corporations to create jobs is bullshit, to anyone who has followed the economic scene. Products have to be consumed for the giants to survive, so you have to give the money to the people who will spend it locally.

Second, there are plently of job opportunities for anyone who wants to work. I paid a gutter company to clean all my gutters, I have three maids clean my house, a pool boy take care of my pool, and two gardeners. I paid a garage door company to program my remotes & check my system. I pay for alarm security. ALL these people are working in a recession and surviving without gov. or the rich aid. This month I will hire someone to clean all my windows and sills on my two story.

Any kid or man can go wash house windows for $5. a window and make a living. The same ones who are down on the street washing cars. Maid service is $50. hr., and they are a scarce commodity. Gardeners who know landscaping, sprinkers, timers, etc. are rare and make the same kind of money. Thats $2,000. a week. My gardener sports a new ford crew cab pickup, that takes bucks.

So no lame con excuses about handing money to the rich to create jobs in some cubical at a corporation.

Yes, nice how you didn't mention gov. one time, ahh, where the money to hire would come from. I hope you are not so fucking stupid you can't figure that one out. Corporations are setting on a trillion cash. Where are these conmythical jobs they are creating??

The money comes from the rich who hire people. You're the one talking socialism not me. The government doesn't have any money. They have the paper that makes the money. The rich have the value that supports that paper.

:lol:Your own link proves that government lifeguards get paid more than double what private sector lifeguards make.

:cuckoo: As for your stupidity & laughing at Breitbart, how does the Orange County Register grab you retarded idiot? Lifeguarding in OC is totally lucrative; some make over $200k
Somebody can't read a chart. The only people that gov lifeguards make double over, and only at the top end of the scale, are lifeguards who work at foundations or trusts!!

And BigotBart cherry-picks beaches that depend on tourist income and whose lifeguards [PLURAL] preform thousands of rescues a year, and therefore deserve the money they make, both in the tourist dollars they help generate and the insurance money they save.

Thousands of rescues a year? Each lifeguard saves thousands of lives?

Are the people in California all trying to kill themselves by swimming too soon after eating?

I guess things are worse in that state then I thought.

I guess it's worth close to $10,000 a month in retirement pay. I sure wish I had gotten that for defending my country. I wonder how many lives I saved. If I was thinking like a lib I could rationalize 300 million or more......every day.
You prove my point when you create a Straw Man to argue against.

The poster gave a link to an article that said:

There is no denying that lifeguards protect swimmers and play a vital safety role in protecting numerous beachgoers every year. In 2010, the total number of rescues by Newport Beach lifeguards was 2,190.
That's 2,190 rescues on one beach alone. That's about 10 rescues per lifeguard.

Again, the article said that the big bucks were earned by the 13 full time lifeguards who supervised the 210 seasonal lifeguards, so it isn't the lifeguards on the towers who are getting the big bucks but the supervisory management who are responsible for manning the towers with properly trained and properly equipped guards. So basically you are arguing that management executives are overpaid. Are you for setting government limits on executive pay???

Semantics. The rich corporations use your tax dollars to hire. Their Trillion is wadded in the ass and will remain there.

You are confusing investment with taxes. It doesn't work that way.

OK, then you must be referring to a prior conversation because I didn't see him say that in this quote
