LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Rep. Mike Flood has gotten an earful during a public meeting in Lincoln aimed at discussing his support for the massive tax breaks and spending cuts bill passed Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump.

Flood, a second-term Republican who represents the GOP-leaning district that includes the University of Nebraska, on Monday braved the ire of a college town audience dominated by hundreds of people intent on expressing their displeasure chiefly with cuts to Medicaid benefits and tax reductions tilted toward the wealthy.

He described the law as less than perfect but stood firm on its Medicaid and tax provisions, fueling a 90-minute barrage of jeers and chants in a scenario House Republican leaders have advised GOP members to avoid.

People are NOT happy with Trump's bill. It adds $3.3T to the National Debt. Slashes funds for Medicaid , SNAP and WIC. People will suffer because of this.

True.

It’s yet another example of the stupidity of voting for Trump and Trump voters voting against their own interests.

And you think that place was full of Republicans?

Let me know when you're ready to retire, I've got some Prime Beach Front Property for sale in Glades County

Democrats always hire protesters to go to GOP town halls and disrupt. They have been doing it for years.

University student protestors boo MAGA.

Yes, we know the democrats have radicalized college students across the USA.

The media, the news is committed to destroying America, Trump is in the way.

China and the democrats will not lose to the American people

according to your own scumbag party, Republicans are rich....

Rich = Intelligent. Poor = Stupid. Every time. Compare Elon Musk to Sapphire Jasmine AngelFood McCrockett and let's talk about IQs

Rich people send their kids to the best schools, the best College Prep, work in the best jobs, associate with the smartest and best people.

Poor People (dimocrap scum, according to your propaganda) go to SHIT Schools (aka; Public) SHIT Colleges )Liberal Arts Shitholes) and are generally life's biggest failures.

But, we're the 'stupid' ones?

Incomes over $200,000 per year. 52% to 46%, Harris over Trump.

College graduates. 56% to 42%, Harris over Trump.

You can kid yourself all you want. Yes, in 2024 Trump made inroads with both the Hispanic community and the Black community, but his core support group, which actually strongly strengthened in 2024; is those dumb ass, uneducated, poor as shit white trash men. I mean you can see it the numbers for feelings about the nation's economy. For those that thought the nation's economy was poor under Biden, 88%, 10% Trump over Harris. For those that thought the economy was excellent, and it was by the way, 89%, 11%, Harris over Trump.

And the cut at public education. Dude, I am sorry if that is the way it is in your neck of the woods.

That is a gas turbine. My son "prints" those with a 3D printer. That printer uses these nickel-alloy pellets. The company that makes those pellets is in Great Britain. The person that created those pellets, he went to the same PUBLIC High School as my son. A 2A school in the middle of nowhere, graduating class, maybe 200.

I went to one of those "liberal arts" universities. Studied under two Nobel laureates, But my sons all went to a different public university, but tell me, if you are studying engineering, what "private" school in North Carolina would you attend? Pratt, at Duke? OK, maybe for biomedical engineering, but with tuition at over $65,000 it doesn't really make much sense. My sons went to UNCC, tuition less than four grand. The oldest, the one printing out those turbines, he went to graduate school at NC State, Phd, tuition about the same per year.

He paid all his undergraduate student loans off within a year of graduating. His company foot most of the bill for the graduate work but he had to throw in a little, paid as he went. Now, at thirty, he heads up two research groups, one out of MIT, one out of Oxford. Private universities are like my Dad used to call eating out at fine restaurants, and by fine, I mean Outback, LOL. You go to a private school like you eat out at a fine restaurant, to make your butthole feel good. It ain't the school hoss, it is the person.

They voted for this putz, knowing he supported 47. Suddenly they shocked at what he did? Get real.

Many people are VERY happy with cuts to benefits going to undeserving persons

Maybe we dont demonstrate as much as the libs, but we are no less supportive as the angry libs are against what trump is doing

Oh NO! People booed?

Like you, they probably don’t understand what’s in it except for what the liberal shills claim it addresses. Indeed, I’m pretty sure that many of the group doing the booing were liberal Democrap plants, anyway.

1 in 4 Trump Voters Disappointed or Regret For Him: I'm Scared'.

New UMASS AMHERST Poll Finds President Trump's Approval Gap Slides 6 Points Since April.

There is heavy duty buyer's remorse setting in. All 47 voters on Medicaid are losing their health care. Very bad jobs numbers are hurting him as well and tariffs are killing the economy. Take your hero worship elsewhere.

So the Democrat's "plan" is to pack every GOP town hall meeting with Democrat activists that will shout down the GOP politicians and then they'll go on a compliant Main Stream Media and declare that the "people" are unhappy with what Trump and the Republicans are doing! I'm sorry but that's not going to work. It's just not. Local people know who their neighbors are. They talk among themselves. They know when they're being gaslit!

If you're entitled to Medicare you'll get it.

Dems are bawling about ones that are not eligible getting kicked to the curb

all of the above. One big disaster
You are Communists. And have a playbook. Unfortunately, a fair percentage of the population does not realize it. They are undereducated in reality and do not even know all of the agendas you have. The caustic jokes, comments and slanders by your entertainment wing of the party give your voters laughs.
