GOP Candidates Circling Trump

Interesting choice of words for the thread title. The first term that came to mind was "circular firing squad".
Funny, this is what came to my mind.

It's too bad that your fantasies have no connection with reality, eh?

Sometimes I wish these right wingers would state the obvious

Trump maybe a bad choice, but Democrats don't really have a choice.

Well, no, she is not. Far more grounded in reality than the loud mouthed ignoramous that you support.

Agreed. I often imagine people are shooting at me when I get off a plane. I also have discussions with dead people just like Mz Clinton. I think she's well grounded.

I think we've stated the obvious: we are sick of the same ole, same ole and want change.

Our establishment politicians make a lot of promises, but not a lot of deliveries.

They told us to give them leadership of Congress, and they will straighten out Obama. Didn't happen. They told us the reason was the Senate. Give them leadership of the Senate, and they can get Congresses bills passed. Didn't happen. Now they are telling us to get a RINO in the White House, and things will happen.

Their excuse is that they fear things like the government shutting down. After all, if the government shuts down, then the Republicans will be blamed.

I'm sorry, but we didn't hire you to work on your reelection, we hired you to do the job. If Democrats have leadership, then Democrats get their way. If Republicans have leadership, Democrats still get their way.

This is why Trump has the support that he does. We want things to go our way for a change.

Bottom line: the American people are fed up with the establishment of both parties as well as the political class in general.

Trump is the vehicle for breaking the hold of the establishments and the career politicians. He is good for the debate and would be a very good president.

I disagree. Only the Republicans are fed up. The Democrats keep voting in the same people over and over again.

hahahahahaha! I disagree with you butttttt, THAT comment was pretty funny!

good point, but not all dems are brain dead, many are waking up as are most independents.

what I find very amusing is that the dems claim to be the party of diversity and their candidates are old, white, far left, and stupid.

This year is the clown car vs the Senior Citizens bus. The Senior Citizen bus is the one driving down the road the last five miles with a turn signal blinking.

I don't know if Dems are waking up, but all the candidates have the exact if not similar policies. They don't want change in that party. If you talk to one, you've talked to them all. But perhaps the Democrats are showing their true colors now. Their number one contender is being investigated by the FBI. Their second most popular contender is an admitted Socialist, and their current leader was supported by the US Communist Party both elections.

It's my contention that most people don't even know what they're voting on when they go to vote. Yeah, I'll vote Democrat. Democrat sounds like democracy, doesn't it? Besides, the Republicans are for the rich white guy.

An educated electorate is a Democrat politicians greatest fear.

No matter what happens, republicans will not put another establishment republican in office. If the establishment wants to take Trump on, it will be the end of the republican party.

The American people are pissed with the establishment...........Trump is simply feeding on this and it works.............It's pissing off the status quo with their War Chests of Political money.................They just don't get it................That the people are tired of their shit................
All true.

The problem is that they have chose a political idiot like Trump to be the standard bearer for that sentiment ensuring that another status quo establishment candidate ends up in the White House anyway.
I'm not on the Trump Train..............................but don't mind laughing at how the others get trashed by him...................It cracks me up.
It would crack me up too if it was not hurting the political process as it is.

We need real change within the parties IMHO and this trash just drives the establishment's tight grip on the system.
The political process needs a trip to reality.....................and if his tactics force the issues then so be it.........................

The establishment is now rejected by the people.......................not all a bad thing.............
That was my point though - his tactics will NOT force that issue. It will help them brush it off... again.

Lol at a Canadian living in Florida saying what's good for America.

The Donald isn't pro Illegal Alien that why the WSJ doesn't like him.

Let me guess. The WSJ LOVES JEB and Rubio? Two special interest whores who will do as they're told.

Even if they succeed, it may only help Cruz, Jeb is done and shouldnt be included in any more debates the numbers he is pulling...no one wants to hear him....Rubio cant be trusted......and may get the nomination but wont win on repub turnout........only reason that makes sense is they want Hilly...who Trump would demolish in a debate because he wouldnt respect her female privilege

What female privilege?

This was very predictable. It was just a matter of time. The grown-ups in the party are coming around to the fact that Trump would set the GOP back a decade.

The Republican establishment, increasingly alarmed by the enduring strength of Donald Trump’s presidential bid, is ratcheting up efforts to knock him out of the race, including the first attempt to unite donors from rival camps into a single anti-Trump force.

A well-connected GOP operative is planning a “guerrilla campaign” backed by secret donors to “defeat and destroy” the celebrity businessman’s candidacy, according to a memo reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. ...

Together, the efforts seem to represent a turning point in the GOP contest, in which other campaigns have previously been skittish about taking on Mr. Trump so directly. The sense of urgency has mounted in part because Mr. Trump continues at or near the top of GOP polls, even after many predicted that the Paris terror attacks would lead voters to turn to a more seasoned candidate. ...

Ms. Mair, who has ties to the libertarian movement and the GOP establishment, said that donors backing Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Mr. Kasich and Mr. Bush are interested, and that some worry that going public could hurt their candidate. ...

“People are finally taking the threat that Trump will destroy the Republican Party and lose the general election to Hillary Clinton seriously,” said Mr. Wilson, who recently started working for a new super PAC backing Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

GOP Operative Plans ‘Guerrilla Campaign’ Against Donald Trump

It's interesting to see Ted Cruz's name in there.

Ms Mair claims to be a Libertarian and an establishment Republican? Right off the bat we know she's lying. Those two things are mutually exclusive. The establishment Republicans are the only ones trying to defeat Trump, and it isn't because they're afraid he would lose. They would rather have Clinton as President than Trump. They want someone who will do their bidding, not tell them to pound sand.

No, it's because we sensible and intelligent Republicans know that Trump would lose general election, and that even if he did win it, it would be at the expense of the Democrats holding the White House for the next 20 years.

What female privilege??????? ....???????? Are you dense or dishonest?

But in all honesty, there are simply too many safeguards that will prevent the country from having to suffer a Trump administration.

1) Trump will not get the nomination. In the end, he will fail.
2) Even if #1 is wrong, he will not win a genera election.
3) Even if #2 is wrong, he will not long sit in the oval office. In incredible bipartisan support, mainstream Republicans in the House will quickly impeach Trump and his VP. The Senate will convict. Everyone will agree that they'd much rather prefer a President Paul Ryan.

Nobody can impeach a President simply because they don't like him or her.
