A black man in Maryland was trying to help out his neighbor — then he was arrested

As usual, a black man gets arrested for doing nothing -- well in this case, this man was actually doing a good thing and he still winds up getting arrested. 23-year-old Samir Ahmed was just helping a neighbor in his own community. When Ahmed noticed the man passed out near his front yard, he decided to assist the man and helped him get home...Shortly after escorting the man home, police arrived on the scene in response to a 911 call about a drunk man stumbling and having a hard time standing up.

From the article: Police were responding to a 911 call of an unconscious man who needed help — but once Ahmed returned to his home, police accused him of being the “intoxicated one,” he said. “I explained that I brought the drunk man home, and she [the officer] began to become infuriated when I wouldn’t tell her his exact address,” Ahmed told reporters.

So they detained Ahmed and pinned him to the hood of a car with his hands behind his back. Other witnesses on the scene were telling the police that Ahmed was the man who helped the drunk guy home, he himself was not the drunk guy -- but police ignored the other witnesses. They then searched and luckily found a small baggie of weed in his pocket -- he was ultimately charged with resisting arrest, failure to obey a reasonably lawful order, obstructing and hindering, and disorderly conduct, according to Maryland court records.

Next time, just leave the drunk guy passed out on your front yard and let the authorities handle it -- good Samaritans should only be people who really "look like" good Samaritans and not criminal weed-smoking thugs.

More like, next time when the cops ask for your address, tell them. Also, don't have pot on your person.

It saves you a ton of problems.

Yet another case of blacks causing their own problems with the cops.

He was illegally detained. You may wish for a society where the police state may detain and question innocents without cause or consequence, but you are in the minority.

There is nothing unreasonable about the charges. He shoud have just given the cops the guy's address.

You do know he is under no obligation to tell the police anything right?

Why is it only a problem when young black men refuse to answer questions?

Imagine if this was a young black male refusing to answer questions...

It is a pretty simple concept..... when cops detain you and ask you questions you ANSWER them. Even a Black man can or should be able to understand that simple rule.

Fuck his constitutional rights huh?

Do you cucks have that same attitude about Trump just sitting down and answering ALL of law enforcement's questions??

He shouldnt have been drunk in public and then make up a story about it being someone else.

The cops have a job to do he has no constitutional right to be immune to consequences of his actions in regards cooperating with the cops.

Yes, you have the right to not answer the cops questions. Then they have a right to detain you. If you are in the area where a crime happened and you remotely fit the description they don't NEED you to answer anything. They can detain you until they are sure you're not the suspect.

Cops don't have time to detain people they suspect of doing nothing wrong. The quicker you cooperate with them the easier the day will be and the faster they will be on their way. But if you want to buck them, that's on you.

As they say, settle it in court with the authorities, not on the street. It doesn't tend to go well when you do.

Did he have to come out of his home for this?

I have no doubt the law is fucked up, and could punish this guy for helping his fellow man.
