With this law, CARB targeted small engines used to power lawn mowing equipment, pressure washers, leaf blowers, anything with 25HP and below, in order to force them to use battery operated equipment. But then, how usually goes with bureaucrats, they don't think things out, they included portable generators with the same horse power ratings, and guess what, many RVs and motor homes use them for their source of energy.

There is conditional waiver for the home generators, as long they're considered "permanent", and diesel generators are excluded. The first phase is scheduled to kick in 2024, where small engines for gardening or landscaping equipment will be banned, and only battery powered equipment will be allowed. During phase one, generators will still be allowed for sale, but when second phase kick in 2028, no gas powered generators under 25 HP will be allowed for sale at all.
