I didn't learn about racism in some school. I learned about racism from my family. There's this almost mythical land called Alabama where the most racist and ignorant white people in the universe live. I grew up there surrounded by the Klan. I moved away and rose above my raising.When I hear someone talking about the "good" old days of race relations when white people could just say whatever crap they wanted without repercussions I think about what happened when black people tried to say what was on their minds. Turns out they took their lives in their hands for just acting like they had rights. The good old days were only good for bigots.
