Does sports-marketing (Jerry Maguire) remind you of Bartleby (or Bedlam)?

BATMAN: We've been crime-fighting allies for some time now!
NIGHTWING: Gotham City (and America) benefits from our heroism.
BATMAN: Yet, I still worry about the allure of luxury in modern America.
NIGHTWING: TrumpUSA has to be a beacon for commercial humility.
BATMAN: Yes, consumers need to appreciate the peace of Wall Street.
NIGHTWING: After 9/11, the world became 'on edge' about capitalism...
BATMAN: The PyeongChang Olympics saw a vital pact between the Koreas.
NIGHTWING: Maybe Super Bowl LIII/53 [2019] can inspire media-reporters!
BATMAN: True; we Americans love sports-marketing (e.g., Jerry Maguire).
NIGHTWING: Maybe someone should make a movie about sports-gambling.
BATMAN: There's Two for the Money (Al Pacino) and The Sting (Paul Newman).
NIGHTWING: Yeah, but there could be more stories/films about that 'aesthetic.'
BATMAN: True...

After Batman and his trusted crime-fighting masked vigilante-partner Nightwing concluded that TrumpUSA consumerism/media might benefit from some nifty sports-gambling folklore, the two heroes soared into Gotham City (and America) to assess how such folklore could impact upcoming culture/markets for Super Bowl 53. After all, there were multiple teams playing very well (Chiefs, Saints, Patriots, Eagles, Rams). Perhaps Batman/Nightwing would use all the fanfare to engineer/doctor some clever sports-gambling rhetoric into the media, so ESPN sports-reporters (and writers) could talk about the modern social value of consumerism-oriented 'fantasy-aesthetics.' This was their challenge...to make capitalism fun.

Batman/Nightwing pitched their idea to U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and invited them to a Wayne Industries charity-event in Atlantic City (New Jersey) designed to use sports-gambling games in a casino for Super Bowl 53 to raise money for AIDS research. This was a smart way to merge sports-marketing/media with consumerism-consciousness based political activism. At the event, the Tom Cruise sports-culture film Jerry Maguire was shown on a large screen in one of the playing-rooms. Batman/Nightwing made sure security was tight so there was no fear of anti-establishment terrorism.

At the casino/NFL charity-event in Atlantic City, all kinds of New Orleans Saints team jewelry was being presented/sold to fans/attendees who were eager to see Drew Brees grab another Vince Lombardi trophy. Batman/Nightwing considered how the 'flow' of consumerism traffic generated a very rudimentary form of 'human yearning' for thrills, daydreams, and fantasies in the world of sports-spectatorship and youthful idol-worship (e.g., athlete memorabilia). Batman and Nightwing took some of the Saints jewelry for themselves, perhaps to present to their girlfriends (Talia and Barbara) at a later date. Everything felt 'normal.'

Unfortunately, a very nice painting donated for the event by a sports-artist which was valued at $1 million was hung in one of the inner-rooms of the casino-hotel but was stolen by an art-thief. Batman/Nightwing scurried to do detective-work to uncover who performed the terrorist-like heist. They concluded that the culprit must be Edward Nygma, former psychologist at Wayne Industries, who'd want to show up at the event presenting himself as a 'media-investor' while performing some nefarious terrorist deed to subvert media processes. After all, Nygma was fired from Wayne Industries and vowed to 'avenge' himself by creating some sort of 'disruptive media stunt.' Perhaps this art-heist would sent the message that 'all was not well in Camelot.'

BATMAN: You dastardly scoundrel!
NIGHTWING: Why'd you do it, Nygma?
NYGMA: A good art-heist should generate publicity...

BATMAN: You're a warped sociopath, Nygma!
NIGHTWING: We'll expose you as a terrorist...
NYGMA: Good luck; I'm already being hailed as a 'genius.'

BATMAN: So, reporters romanticized your 'anti-capitalist method.'
NIGHTWING: Yeah, they found your 'consumerism-puncture' revealing.
NYGMA: Everyone appreciates good social commentary...

BATMAN: Consumerism is for peace, not sarcasm.
NIGHTWING: People appreciate the appeal of toys and television.
NYGMA: Sports-gambling is a cancer reflective of capitalism's avarice.

BATMAN: You can't cure corruption with terrorism/nihilism.
NIGHTWING: People want to be inspired, Nygma...
NYGMA: Sometimes calamity is as cathartic as pedagoguery.

BATMAN: We'll tell everyone you sought to undermine good cheer!
NIGHTWING: I bet you have a bronze statue of us to remind you of hatred.
NYGMA: I do indeed have Batman/Nightwing bronze mini-statues in my mansion.

After Batman/Nightwing hauled off Nygma to Arkham Asylum, the center for the incarceration/treatment of the criminally-insane, President Trump awarded the crime-fighting vigilantes with a special medallion, in gratitude for dealing with what could have become a spiraling anti-commerce/media art-heist 'scandal' leading up to Super Bowl 53. Meanwhile, Saints [NFL] fans eagerly anticipated their matchup with the defending-champs Philly Eagles on January 13, and Batman/Nightwing hoped the sports-fanfare would help people remember the simple joys of media confetti leading up to the Super Bowl. Would TrumpUSA become the beacon of commercial cheer Batman/Nightwing envisioned, or would capitalism-avarice generate the sort of 'social insanity' that the cynical Edward Nygma predicted?
