God, Government and the Poor

Stockholders have money. Poor people don't.
So? What’s the point? is that the defense for taking money from middle class workers who earned it and giving it to lazy people who won’t get a job because…..I don’t wanna.

Poor people can take advantage of taxpayer funded education via Pell, get training for a decent job, and within several years they can start saving a few thousand dollars a year, increasing the amount as their income increases, and invest in the stock market.

They can eventually be worth at least $500,000, and more likely closer to $1,000,000 by retirement. My parents, their siblings, their longtime friends, and their longtime friends’ siblings ALL were poor during childhood, and ALL were comfortably upper-middle class by middle age.

Why do you want to ruin middle class’ peoples’ nest eggs? Are you secretly thrilled that the bottom is falling out of the market, because it hurts those meanie rich people, even though middle class people are now worried about their futures?

Love the level of vitteol for the poor guy not the rich guy. You fail Christianity 101.
I’m Jewish, so not sure what the dig is. (And Jews give tzedakah, which is a big commandment.)

And what vitriol for the poor guy? That people should take jobs - there are millions of unfilled jobs - instead of feeling entitled to refuse to work and live off of other people’s money is vitriol?

And I didn’t mention any rich people, but why would there be vitriol for them? They prepared for careers with education, worked hard, made sacrifices, and worked their way up the ladder - investing responsibly over decades.

You exemplify why liberals’ values are upside down: run to the defense of the “poor” who prefer to take OPM rather than work, and express disdain, disapproval, whatever, for the “rich” guy who worked, saved, and invested. Your upside values - defending people who don’t contribute and criticizing producers who contribute to society - is a sure-fire way to destroy the country.

Liberals. Sheesh.

Recently I posted an article called "30 Good Things President Trump Has Done for America"

At the end of the list the author states this:

"If you believe (as I do) that God is sovereign over the affairs of nations, do you think that Donald Trump’s presidency has been evidence of divine blessing or divine judgment? I admit that perceiving divine purposes in human events is a task that cannot be proved with certainty one way or another, but when I look over this list of 30 actions, it appears to me to be far more characteristic of divine blessing than of divine judgment. If others disagree, I respect your right to have a different opinion, but that is my view"

In my thread a leftwing democrat forum member went on to respond with Scripture about helping the poor. The inference there was that democrats help the poor and Republicans do not.

That is a common belief, and a total lie.

Who has heard the phrase, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life."

This is so applicable today: Democrats love to give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or in our case they love to give people free cheese and food stamps. Republicans want to teach a man to fish and feed him for life, or in our case, create a strong economy with good jobs and allow all Americans the dignity or earning a living. Democrats do not seem to grasp the concept of personal dignity and the Godliness of a honest days labor.

So, when it comes to helping the poor, Republican policies are best. A rising tide lifts all boats.
Under President Trump we reached the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years, and in case anyone forgot, Trump achieved the lowest Black and Hispanic unemployment rates on record. As I say, a rising tide lifts all boats.

And as for social issues like sodomy (gay marriage) and killing (abortion) etc., well we all know what God says about those.

Go with GOD and go with GOP

He has been divinely demonic. He used the office for his own enrichment, and he finally got caught in a big way.

Your arrogance makes one want to puke. 🤮 Seriously! WTF are you? You think poor people are the only one's who get free stuff? What about the farm bill? What about sports Socialism? That's free stuff.

I hate to break kit to you, but a rising tide means opportunity for all. You don't get that with section 8 housing. Want to know why? because white privilege like to keep it that way. They want them on welfare. It keeps them out of mainstreamj, and in the meantime folks like you get off on scapegoating them.

You're a real piece of work, you know that?

I really have the demonic grooming socialist democrats jumping out of their skins today.. My posts to them are like crosses to Dracula.
No you don't. But your fixing to get a lesson on keeping your trap shut by the time I'm through with you.

Speaking of God, these are the The Five Non-Negotiables

Abortion. Euthanasia. Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Human Cloning. Same Sex “Marriage”.

It is our responsibility as believers in the God of Abraham that we must evaluate the policies embraced by a political party, candidate or law. It is not enough to say that there is “some” good if there is intrinsic evil. As people of faith we cannot support the five non-negotiables.

Abortion

Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being. The deliberate murder of an innocent person is gravely contrary to the dignity of the human being.

Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life."

Abortion is immoral and a grave offense. Anyone who has, or even participates in (with full knowledge) an abortion is committing a grave offense against not only his own soul, but also against the Creator and His creation of man. It is our duty to educate and comfort those in pain, especially when effected by such an atrocity as abortion.

Euthanasia (assisted suicide)

Whatever its motives and means, direct euthanasia consists in putting an end to the lives of handicapped, sick, or dying persons. It is morally unacceptable. An act which causes death in order to eliminate suffering constitutes a murder gravely contrary to the dignity of the human person. The error of judgment into which one can fall in good faith does not change the nature of this murderous act, which must always be forbidden and excluded. "

Euthanasia for the motive of eliminating suffering is morally unacceptable. God is the ultimate power when it comes to our lives and when our time has come. While one can still discontinue medical procedures when the treatment becomes too burdensome or extreme that, while extending the life a small amount, the party accepts that death is imminent (besides the attempts to impede it), and is therefore acceptable, though this decision should be made by the patient, if competent enough.

Embryonic Stem Cell Research

We can support ethically responsible stem cell research, but we must oppose any research that exploits or destroys human embryos. Deliberately destroying innocent human life at any stage, for research or any other purpose, is unacceptable. However, obtaining embryonic stem cells or their pluripotent equivalent without creating or harming embryos is ethically acceptable stem cell research.

People of Faith must stand firmly with a pro-life stance. Similar to abortion, every life is sacred and must be treated with dignity. We are not to murder any current life at any stage for the furtherment of future research.

Human Cloning

In 1995, an Encyclical Letter of Pope John Paul II titled 'The Gospel of Life' stated the following: "The various techniques of artificial reproduction, which would seem to be at the service of life and which are frequently used with this intention, actually open the door to new threats against life. Apart from the fact that they are morally unacceptable, since they separate procreation from the fully human context of the conjugal act, these techniques have a high rate of failure: not just failure in relation to fertilization but with regard to the subsequent development of the embryo, which is exposed to the risk of death, generally within a very short space of time. Furthermore, the number of embryos produced is often greater than that needed for implantation in the woman's womb, and these so-called 'spare embryos' are then destroyed or used for research which, under the pretext of scientific or medical progress, in fact reduces human life to the level of simple 'biological material' to be freely disposed of."

Human cloning goes against the natural law that God created. God's law is that new life can only come from the conjugal act, making it against God's law to clone humans without that act.

Homosexual "Marriage"

Homosexuality has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. The Abrahamic religions present homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity. Homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered and they are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

Homosexual "marriage" is not marriage at all, and it goes against God's instituted natural law. Marriage was created for a man and a woman. Since this cannot be obtained through same-sex unions, the act of homosexuality is morally wrong. While the act of homosexual sex must be condemned, the individuals are to be loved, with respect and compassion directed towards them as they struggle to find their way to God and His calling for them.

Show us in the Bible where it restricts embryonic stem cell research?

That is not what my God says.

How are there no fish to go around? We have tens of millions of jobs available, many requiring no skills or education and yet paying $17 and $18 an hour, and we still have able-bodied adults sitting home and collecting Other People’s Money.

There’s no excuse for a household with two or more adults to be on welfare when not a single one of them has a job.
I prefer to think Tactical...
If you are serving food or are a janitor and making $18,00/hour, you're still living in a slum.
You now have to work 30 years doing what you're doing and living in a slum.

Can the problem be fixed for the current generation?
Probably not.
Why aren't schools that serve the poor and their communities doing a better job to enable them to get a career rather than a job?

Opportunity for all. Section 8 Housing is opportunity in reverse. And it's done on purpose, for a purpose.

The rich need to start paying 70,80,90% in taxes, when we had a real middle class 40 years ago.
Section 8 Housing in Brooklyn is a Heroin Zone.

I see that you are also totally ignorant of economics.

Wealth is not a static pie that everyone gets a piece of. Wealth is created. Bill Gates took 1's and 0's and made billions out of thin air. The Uber founder took an idea and made millions off of just an idea.

You never run out of "fish" you moron. Your ignorance on this topic is frightening.
Why shouldn't they? In the 40s to the late 70s we taxed the rich 70,80,and 90%, and we had a middle class.

Talkabout ignorant of economics. :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: Son, you need to sit down and get a reality check. Do you not know what has been happening in the last forty years? Then get a clue;
