Chris Ledoux has died. I have no link yet, but I just heard it on the radio.

DAMMIT! A couple of my old rodeo buddies called me last night and told me, I was fucking stunned, dumbfounded!

This guy was 1, I MEAN 1 OF A KIND! I met him a few times, he was just like 1 of the guys behind the chutes, dipping copenhagen and telling lies, damn nice guy and 1 hell of a singer. I mean I believe him to be the only artist out there who devoted 99% of his material to the rodeo life, and on top of that he lived it, 1976 PRCA bareback champ. He told it like it is, didn't try to romanticize it too much.

Like he said once "hard to be a tough macho cowboy when all you've got left is a can of pork and beans and a half a tank of gas to get to your next bronc", that is rodeo life right there.

America lost a national treasure

BTW he died of some sort of liver failure from what I understand.
