Judge Cannon OKs release of Jack Smith’s report on Trump’s efforts to subvert 2020 election

A federal judge has cleared the way for the Justice Department to release the portion of special counsel Jack Smith’s report on Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

But U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon is continuing to prohibit DOJ from showing selected lawmakers another part of Smith’s report that covers his probe into Trump’s handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Cannon ordered a hearing on that issue Friday in her courtroom in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has indicated he plans to publicly release the volume of Smith’s report detailing his election-related investigation, which led to grave criminal conspiracy charges against Trump. Cannon’s Monday order means that, barring intervention by a higher court, that volume could become public as soon as Tuesday.

Is she seeking a reprieve to prevent disbarment? Or did she just want to prove her total fidelity to His Orangeness? Either way the report is coming out.

Not that I expect anything in the way of startling revelations. The details of his criminal activities are already well documented. Thanks both to Smith's indictment and the remarkable work of the Jan. 6 House committee.

The release of the report has nothing to do with "getting him." The SC and trump's endless lawfare took care of that.

This is about the release of Smith's report to the public so Cheeto can't bury it. Along with the House report Smith's will stand as a historical public record of trump's treasonous criminality and deceit.

We've been through this. The circumstances of Smith's appointment do not taint the evidence he and his team revealed. The evidence should be seen as a measure of the case against the orange enemy of the state. Not whatever decision the 11th Circuit makes about his appointment.
Facts.

Oh no, does this mean president Trump won't be sworn in next Monday?
