Bingo. A few years ago there was a semi-shutdown where the workers worked only 3 days a week for 60% of their pay. My friends LOVED it, because they had plenty of money saved and knew the government would make up the shortfall.

They were praying the semi-shutdown wouldn’t end.

I had that once for 2 years at Silicon Valley startup. CEO said going to 4 days week paid 32 hours. But come in FRI too strongly urged. Translation: 5 ten hour days or be laid off. Temporary. It worked so good he kept it going. A few left.

I would have loved that once I moved into my 50s. Dragging my butt downtown 5 days a week (walk to the bus….bus to metro stop….DC metro stop to office, 6 blocks) was getting old. Especially in the winter when it was dark by the time I left the office.

Wonder how long those ICE agents can go, without pay? Or the Military for that matter? Or TSA and air traffic controllers....? Hope they prepared for this.... The lump sum in retroactive pay will be nice when it happens, but until then, this can't be easy....for them or their families.

I made it all back and then some when stock went public.

As i got older and wiser, I always went in early, tried to work hard straight thru. Left early too. Never one to do hours for show or 2 hour lunches with the masses, forcing you to stay late if you were honest.

Under federal law, many things are illegal. That does not license Trumpers to lie and claim that Democrats are attempting to give free healthcare to whirling dervishes, even if Trump's cult swallows it.

The subsidies, that made Obamacare work were all canceled in the Big Beautiful Bill. THAT ends Obamacare in one swoop, without legislation reneging the program, but by the BBB funding bill....which gave Obamacare none.
