Apparently GM is being investigated by Congress over a defect in the ignition switch. It works like this, picture yourself going 70 miles an hour down the road as the weight of your key chain turns off the power to your car which causes such things as your breaks and air bags not to work. Then right before you plow into the school bus full of kids you can shout, "F@@k Obama!!"

There is evidence that GM knowingly hid this defect in order to try and reduce expenditures. If so, it will turn into a criminal investigation.

Not to worry GM, you know you are now bullet proof. That's what happens when you become part of the federal government. With criminal scum like Charley Rangel as your daddy, nothing you do will be held accountable to anyone. In fact, what is the worse that can happen? Bankruptcy? Pfft!! That is what the American tax payer if for gang.

So was 13 lives worth bailing out GM along with the billions in tax payer money? Some may say yes, but before you answer, you should ask if it is worth your life. For you see, GM has failed to recall some 2.6 million cars on the road. That could be a car you are driving or one that could slam into you and kill you and your family.

This is what happens when you prop up failure.

GM - union owned.

Next they'll be making coffins. I mean real ones not just those made casually.

Union label proudly emblazoned on the lid - a genuine simulated brass plaque.

With raised lettering.

The government has already made it clear that GM is here to stay no matter how many people they kill or bankrupt.

If ya think about it, why would they want to run GM any different from how they run Obamacare.

Dec. 19, 2008: Bush approves a bailout plan, giving GM and Chrysler $13.4 billion in initial financing from the Troubled Asset Relief Program

What's Toyota's excuse?

Also, be careful with Talk Radio. They haven't told you about the number of private sector corporations that relay heavily on Washington. Have you ever studied lobbying, or the money that flows from the "Free" Market to our legislators? Do you know how much money the taxpayer has poured into, say, commercial aviation (through defense subsidies to companies like Boeing)? Or how about the patent system whereby the nanny state protects the investments of the "Free" Market? Have you ever studied the Patent system? Do you understand how it constitutes the worst kind of government intervention? Does Rush Limbaugh ever talk about the many types of government intervention that sustain/protect "private" sector profits? You should be able to name this stuff before spewing bumper sticker garbage over auto bailouts (a.k.a. low hanging fruit).

Are you familiar with the 2003 Northeast Blackout? Cost to taxpayers in the billions. Regulators made toothless by Reagan warned the power companies that their grids would fail unless they made expensive but necessary upgrades. Problem is, they didn't want to put any debt on their balance sheets for fear of stock devaluation. So instead of doing the right thing, they did nothing and their grids failed, predictably. Thankfully, these anti-union power companies had an ally in Bush and the Republican controlled congress. Instead of going to jail or losing their shirts, Bush passed on the expense of their negligence to the taxpayer. Guys like you didn't say a thing. Had the same problem occurred prior to Reagan's deregulation of energy, those companies would have been forced to make the upgrades. The satellite system (upon which several economic sectors depend for profit) came from Big government, specifically the Cold War Pentagon and NASA. You need to learn this shit before you talk about who is propping up who.

Also in 2003, Eli Lilly bought the Republican controlled House and Senate. They got a drug bill passed that locked the taxpayer into above market costs for Medicare drugs. Or what about the Iraq War, which was a rat's nest of no-bid contracts and lost/stolen/laundered money. Your news sources never cover any of this stuff, so it's hard to take you seriously. You don't trust Washington to run a laundromat unless your party controls the White House, and then somehow you think Washington has the competence to rebuild whole Arab nations. The Reagan Revolution started with a promise for small government and accountability, but it ended with TARP and warrantless wiretapping. You got punk'd by dear leader and you don't see it. Don't carry their water. Turn off talk radio and hold both parties accountable. Go to a library. Try to read independent sources. Get more information.

Ya gotta love it. They replace the Grand Am and Cavalier. The two cars that did not need to be replaced, with these things and end up with Pontiac shuttered and this mess.

Why is any of that relevant here?

Sounds a little bit like Obama Care.

So Republicans want GM to shut down? How many jobs lost is that? That will be Obama's fault, too, right?

How many jobs did rescuing it cost? Because all you got for your billions of dollars was the same old shitty company producing crap that will land it back in bankruptcy so you can bail their asses out again.
Don't ever preach to anyone here about how the GOP favors big companies, asshole. You're the problem, no tthe GOP.

Who gave them the bailout?

Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress.
Next.

Right, except you're wrong.

President George W. Bush stepped in Friday to keep America's auto industry afloat, announcing a $17.4 billion bailout for GM and Chrysler, with the terms of the loans requiring that the firms radically restructure and show they can become profitable soon.

Oh, gee. Wow. Look at that.

Geezus what a fucking low information scumbag you are. Bush extended TARP funds to GM, over Congress' objection.
Obama bailed the company out with a phony bankruptcy that also violated federal BK laws, handing over equity to his union pals.
Obama Trumpets GM Bailout, No Mention of $10B Loss

You must suck cock. No one but a real cocksucker can be so fucking stupid.

Did Bush sign over public money to GM in 2008 before Obama was President?

Did Obama bail out GM? Did Obama allow GM to file a bankruptcy that violated federal laws?
The answer is yes and yes.
Did Obama campaign with the slogan, Osama is dead and GM is alive? Yes.
