I would also remind people that it was settled science up until recently that Pluto was a planet , however now it's not settled science. To imply that the science of Man Made Global Warming is settled is complete nonsense and is more akin to reading tea leaves or tree rings in this case and calling it settled science. Science allows for honest debate on the merits of issues and when that debate is squashed it becomes a cult.

There are many many more who have abandoned logic and made the decision on this issue as if no further research is needed. Honest debate and honest research on the issue regardless of the results should never be cast aside and thus the science will never be settled as its the nature of science to discover. So are those that advocate this , in favor of casting aside research on the issue because the science is settled then? Using that logic then my contention would be that any further investment on research on science that settled would be a waste of financial resources that are scarce and I'm sure no one would advocate that.

The trustworthiness of the scientific community's global warming data pool is being called into question as the scandal over doctored data continues to unfold.

The latest revelation came on Sunday with the publication of a report by The Sunday Times of London that scientists at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit in the United Kingdom confessed to throwing out most of the raw temperature data on which the theory of global warming is founded.

The loss of the data prevents other scientists from checking it to determine whether, in fact, there has been a long-term rise in global temperatures during the past century and a half.

"They are making scientific progress more difficult now," says Willie Soon, a physicist, astronomer and climate researcher at the solar and stellar physics division of the Harvard University-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. "This is a shameful, dark day for science," he said in an interview with FoxNews.com.

Soon also suggested that there has been systemic suppression of dissenting opinion among scientists in the climate change community, ranging from social snubs to e-mail stalking and even threats of harm.

American astronaut Dr. Jack Schmitt—the last living man to walk on the moon—is the latest scientist to be added to the roster of more than 70 skeptics who will confront the subject of global warming at the second annual International Conference on Climate Change in New York City March 8-10, 2009.

You know as well as I, the ‘global warming scare’ is being used as a political tool to increase government control over American lives, incomes, and decision making ...”

The trend in this field lately has been to completely ignore the writings of those who do not believe that this science is by no means settled and all of the steps to mandate change based on it are premature at best. In fact those that claim that somehow the IPCC is made up of experts in climate science ahd those that call into question this theory have no basis to question it because they are not is laughable. Here is who the IPCC is made up of....

The facts are the so called man made global warming zealots have a whole array of people in all walks of life represented in the IPCC and to imply that somehow those that call into question this science somehow have no reason to do so because they have no relation to the field would eleminate most of the IPCC then,. Further, In my opnion a man qualified to be a field geologist to go to the moon qualifies as an expert on the matter as does someone who is a Professor in the subject from a major University. The other thing you often hear on the matter is that somehow these scientists are tied to the oil industry so therefor they lack credibility, and as I showed you in a previous posting, several of those companies advocate for climate change legislation, so what does that say about scientist that support the theory? The bottom line here is this, if our nation put as much effort into clean energy solutions, nuclear, wind, solar, hydro, natural gas, clean coal, and yes domestic oil production as they did in trying to convince everyone of this nonsense then perhaps we could finally address the needs of those that support a clean environment which I suspect all of us want, and our nation who wishes not to depend on foreign sources of oil.
