GIs Exporting Their Vile Racism In WW2

GLASNOST
In the sixties Blacks had every legal right that any other racial group did. In most of the USA they were treated like everyone else. People like you seem to think that the entire USA was like the Deep South with KKK idiots running around lynching blacks and Catholics.
So the segregation was all my imagination? when black kids needed a FBI escort to and from School there is something very sick about that society, by the way a Aunt of mine lived in Georgia at the time, my Mums younger Sister.

I can't understand why any Black man would have served in Vietnam when they still didn't have full rights in the Country they were dying for
Slightly off top but the legal age to be sent to Vietnam was 19 but the legal age to drink and vote was 21. I was 19 myself as most of us were.

That's right. 👍
Several years ago i was at a WW2 event and met a former member of the LRDG which was very rare there were not many about even then, i also became friends with a WW2 SAS veteran, i worked with his Granddaughter, he had served under the famous Paddy Mayne, he had some stories to tell.

Very young to be involved, at that age most are not politically aware, think i told you a Cousin of mine served there in the Marines My Mums Sisters boy who lived in Alabama at the time,he was also 19 first time, very nice guy i met a few times over the years but totally conditioned so i didn't really get into it with him about that war and other political events, the SAS vet sent me a Christmas card very year with the Regimental emblem.

I was there twice. I know and you can’t read.
Jesus. You are one sorry piece of work. What you don't know you just make up. AIT ain't Basic Training so you don't know shit about what we did at Fort Lost in the Woods.

I never visited the South during that time but I did live in Rhodesia during the last years of Ian Smith's regime and I spent plenty of time in the RSA during Apartheid. So yes, I do understand. Whites - Blacks - Coloureds .... it was all on display. Public toilettes, queues, townships, post offices, city buses, even pedestrian fly-overs!

Segregation only happened in the Deep South. If I remember correctly, that photo was taken in Arkansas.

I don't care how many times you were there. I was there at Basic Training (you were not) so I don't need to read anything you've written. It's you who didn't see. Consider yourself lucky that I didn't put my low quarters up your ass.

So ... is Arkansas in the Deep South of the US or on South Island of NZ? Anyway they were still lynching black people in Texas in 1962 and as far as I know Texas is in the West, not Deep South. Maybe geography is not your thing, huh?

What's funny is your claim that the GI's imported racism into the Commonwealth has been proven a lie. The British contempt for the Maori, the Aboriginals, and the entire Indian sub continent is very well known.

So take your rampant hypocrisy, and shove it up your very wide ass.

Any state that was part of the Confederacy, or South of the Mason-Dixon is called the Deep South.

If you're white, you are guilty of racism. They see right through cracker appeasement.

Yeah, right

Like an American vet would celebrate the loss of American lives like you do.

I should think it would have been impossible. anyway. Perhaps if you would meet him today?
He passed away several years ago, his Mother was a lovely Lady my Mums Sister, i was told at the time of the Vietnam war was on his Mother was thinking about sending him to the UK, but for one reason or other it didn't happen so he ended up in the US Marines, it could have been something as simple as most 18 year olds would have thought at the time, my mates are going so i am.
