I can remember that special stench at da butchers. When my parents were kids they went to the small grocer downtown to get general household groceries and maybe fruits and vegetables if they were carried there, otherwise, they then went to the fruit stand. Then they went to the butcher shop to get their meat. Then they went to the bakery to get their bread.
One day somebody decided, hey, let's create a larger building that has all of these things in it and call it a supermarket. Then people don't have to run all over town picking up different groceries. They can get it all here. You know what happened? Everyone started going to the supermarket and the "Mom and Pop" boutique businesses started going out of business.
So yes, people wanted for this. You can point the finger at whoever else you want, but if the consumer still wanted to run all over town to the small family shops to buy everything they'd still exist.
NyetAre they any different than cookies made by Nabisco, Pepsi, General Mills, or Famous Anus?
I still buy my meat at a butcher.....If I can get to it before the EBT crowd does. When my parents were kids they went to the small grocer downtown to get general household groceries and maybe fruits and vegetables if they were carried there, otherwise, they then went to the fruit stand. And don't forget what the Zulus steal.I still buy my meat at a butcher.....If I can get to it before the EBT crowd does.
No shit either.....My butcher says that all the best cuts are gone just after the EBT cards are recharged.....But that's another story.
