I bet his Muslim slaves were sold by other Muslims too. You do realize that the slave trade still exists.

Of course it did.

Most of Africa was Muslim even in that era. And the slaves were normally captured by other African tribes. It generally took 1-3 generations for them to start to abandon their original faith and become "Christianized".
