In what way did George Wallace flout the U.S. Constitution? Inquiring minds want to know, and it is not apparent from the little essay in the OP.

Second, the pearl-clutching about 1/6/21 ignores a massive fact that the MSM dares not articulate, at least in public: At least half of American voters agreed with Trump that the election had been stolen. This is why only half of the country has been outraged and the other half.....well.....elected the fukker to second term, a development which the Left still cannot get its collective brain around.

And as I have posited on this very forum before, What if Trump was right? Was his reaction extreme or extremely understandable?

If the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the declaration of the War on Poverty had not been followed by five years of black ghetto rioting and more enduring increases in black social pathology, Wallace would have remained a regional politician, and a Democrat dove would have been elected in 1968 who would have ended the War in Vietnam. So, civil rights legislation and attempts to help people rise out of poverty didn't erase centuries of oppressive racial prejudice. Who would have guessed.

White racial moderates thought that by supporting the civil rights legislation and the War on Poverty they were buying racial peace. When they got instead five years of black ghetto riots and more enduring rates of black social pathology, they felt betrayed, and began voting Republican.

When Negroes were subdued by Jim Crow legislation most of them behaved better.
