"General Betray-Us" Pretty Lame

Did you see the news about the Move-On ad basically calling General Petraeus general “Betray Us”? It was a pretty lame and petty stunt in my opinion.

You don't pay attention well. None of the liberals EVER critizes their team. The best you will get is, Well Moveon.Org isn't the democratic party routine.

I think you might find that many are disgusted by it. I must say I have avoided reading any ad or website or whatever that has a variation of the name "Petraeus" in it. It's a bit like "Repugs". "Rethugs" etc and "Dimocrats" and "Dhimmicrats" and all the rest of the words from both sides of the fence.

It's childish.

I'm much more interested in why Petraeus didn't give sworn testimony. If that's the usual approach then that answers my question. If not asking his to take an oath was unusual practice then I'm interested to know why.

I prefer issues of substance over personal smears.

Other than it goes up every year? Other than the republicans are the ones that made it so combat veterans can draw retired pay AND VA disability, ya thats a bad record alright. Ohh and did I mention the VA is now extending doctor hours for mental health?

Funny, I haven't seen any budget that reduced the previous years amount sent to the VA, nor have I received anything from the VA every year EXCEPT increases.

Perhaps you could take time out from that groovy time warp your in to provide actual evidence that the VA has less money now and less benefits now then in 2000. CAN YOU DIG IT?

You made the claim, you provide the evidence. Bush has been President since 2000, thus we can reasonably start there as a point to prove your claim. It can not be very hard, you have insisted he cut funding, you must be able to provide the budget cuts , a good way to do that would be to show the previous year and the new year. Further you claim the VA has cut benefits, again it can not be to hard to prove, show us the benefits one year and the reduced benefits the next.

I have drawn VA disability pay at 100 percent since 2000, I have never had a cut in the amount, it goes up each year. I seldom use the VA hospital as it is over 90 miles away, but as far as I can tell I still can go there anytime I want, if I want to wait for the long as time it takes for appointments ( which was true long before Bush took office). I use Tri Care and Medicare. I see a doctor every Monday, a family doctor about once a month and another specialist once a month. I couldn't get that treatment at the VA, but that was true as long as I have known, been retired since 1995. I have been in the hospital at least several times a year since 1995 also, before the VA and Medicare I had to pay 25 percent, now I don't pay at all. Well unless the doctor doesn't verify the need for treatment.

My father used the VA extensively for the last few years of his life also. He never had a problem getting appointments, medication or the numerous operations he had those last few years. That was all before Bush of course.

He was elected in 2000, assumed office in 2001, so other than playing word games, put up or shut up. The earliest Bush could have cut VA benefits is 2001, thus a starting point of 2000 as a base.
