Gen. Stanley McChrystal should be fired

You truly are showing how naive youy are.

And the way you show it is disgraceful.

I joined the military for my country.

I fought for the life of my brothers and myself.

Enough said.
So you agree that soldiers don't fight for their country and it is not their first duty? Then you should not be in the military either, imo.

First, read the crest attached to this post -- My Avatar. It is the crest of the 30th Infantry Regiment. If you look closely enough you will see that it refers to the Battle of the Marne River in France in July of 1918. The 3rd Infantry division was defending the sector from a German offensive being launched in their area. The Americans were under French command at the time. The French general ordered the Americans to withdraw in retreat. The American commander replied, "Nous Resterons La!"

And that's exactly what they did for 3 days. You'll note further that the crest says "Our Country, Not Ourselves" That item might be inexplicable to anyone who has never been confronted with the very real possibility of having the opportunity of making that choice.

All of that said, in July of 1918, in France, the men of the 30th regiment were not thinking of shooting the Germans for America or for California or for Michigan, they were thinking of keeping the bloody Hun out of their trenches so they could them by the dozen. They were thinking how God almighty important it was to keep that German, the one 15 yards away from breaking through in his sector, the one he was responsible for and uttering that famous Infantry prayer, "Oh please God, don't let me **** up!"

Can you figure it out now?
That's a nice post. However, conjob's statements were wrong and don't even match yours. I've read his posts and he believes a uniform makes one better than anyone else. He is wrong.

Turns out that McChyrstal was drunk and blabbing to the Rolling Stone...the guy has no judgment and no room to criticize anyone.

In other words you can't figure it out and he needs to actually spell it out for you.

Where do you get that I think people in uniform are better than those out of uniform?

IF you haven't worn a uniform you don't have a clue as to the UCMJ or the military =/= the military are better than civilians.

I'm better than you because you're an idiot.

Do you have even enough decency to apologize for calling me a quitter? NO of course you do not.

You don't get on a train, start (or continue) drinking and trash talk the USA and/or its leaders. That's skating mighty close to giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Also, apparently McCristal can't be trusted to keep his lips shut under the influence.

Anyone that thinks he shouldn't be fired, imo, is so partisan that they show they hate Obama more than they hate AQ.

Nope...you are a quitter. You cried that you were quitting because Obama was president. You're scum, imo...no need for me to apologize.

And at the same time you think cops and/or the military can commit any offense because they wear a uniform.

Again, I'm glad you are quitting.

Some people are saying McChrystal is losing it like that guy in Apocalypse Now.

:cuckoo:

The Horror..

Copy and paste where I said that you dishonest piece of shit.

For a soldier who has traveled halfway around the world to fight, thatÂ’s like telling a cop he should only patrol in areas where he knows he wonÂ’t have to make arrests.

RATFLMAO!!!!

There goes the "humble soldier heading off to war to fight the good fight. Although he doesn't want to kill, he goes so those at home don't have to" excuses.

Just as I thought - a lot of soldiers are just gung-ho killing machines...

...Kubrick was on the money....

Completely off base DR.

Are there some that feel that way? Of course, the military is nothing if not a microcosm of society and as such there will be some anti social morons in it, but PROFESSIONAL soldiers do not look forward to killing, and only a psychopath takes joy in it.

All you libbies are missing one massive point. This move by McChrystal was not a mistake. Not a misprint. Not a mis-spoken statement.

He is a special forces officer, a black ops veteran. The kind of men who plan 8 months for a 2 week mission. They don't make mistakes. They don't "slip up". They don't do anything that is not thought out. The Rolling Stones interview was planned and rehearsed. He is a genius at tactics, psych-ops, etc.

He laid a trap for Obama to expose the president's horrible foreign policy and absurd amateurism. And it worked like a charm. Obama went charging in, and look where it landed him. In yet another mess.

I never thought I'd say this, but General McChrystal and Iran's president have something in common: They have both exposed Obama for the amateur that he is.

"One soldier shows me the list of new regulations the platoon was given. “Patrol only in areas that you are reasonably certain that you will not have to defend yourselves with lethal force,” the laminated card reads. For a soldier who has traveled halfway around the world to fight, that’s like telling a cop he should only patrol in areas where he knows he won’t have to make arrests. “Does that make any f–king sense?” Pfc. Jared Pautsch. “We should just drop a f–king bomb on this place. You sit and ask yourself: What are we doing here?”

15th post
Short of Michelle leaving Barack for having sex with the neighborhood camels, I can't imagine anything more publicly embarrassing than how a warrior like McCrystal is leaving the Marxist Mulatto. Obama's done after this. Only his fellow Neo-Nazi/Marxist/Socialist Ideologues will support him and his continued efforts to undermine and destroy this nation.

Obama's been exposed as a guy who has no interest in winning.

And that is one of the only times I have ever agreed with you! LOL:clap2:

Of course we all know you think exactly the opposite. It's NEVER ok to talk bad about the boyking...

...that is all.

yep... he does. and i suspect he will be.

insubordinate ass. i guess he was feeling frustrated that his afghanistan 'strategy' wasn't working so hot and the administration wanted him to put up or shut up.

I think there is a little more too it than that--:cuckoo:

The article says that although McChrystal voted for Obama, the two failed to connect from the start. Obama called McChrystal on the carpet last fall for speaking too bluntly about his desire for more troops.

"I found that time painful," McChrystal said in the article, on newsstands Friday. "I was selling an unsellable position."

It quoted an adviser to McChrystal dismissing the early meeting with Obama as a "10-minute photo-op."

"Obama clearly didn't know anything about him, who he was. The boss was pretty disappointed," the adviser told the magazine.

Obama agreed to dispatch an additional 30,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan only after months of study that many in the military found frustrating. The White House's troop commitment was coupled with a pledge to begin bringing troops home in July 2011, in what counterinsurgency strategists advising McChrystal regarded as an arbitrary deadline.

How often do we see generals make these kind of statements about the "commander and chief"--without alot of frustration going on?

You're attempting to have a conversation with Ravi? Honestly the world would be a better place if we attempted to use HER to plug the damn oil leak.
