Well there are still a lot of people who don't support same sex marriages. It would be better to listen to their opinion since it's a big chunk of American society. It's just wrong to call those people 'backward'.

Heck even in California when the people voted for prop8, they voted against same sex marriage.

In 2008. Since 2011 public opinion has swung toward gay marriage. To the point where today, its 60- 37 in favor of same sex marriage.

That's a 23 point lead.

I would take a actual vote over some poll any day.

Marriage won at the ballot box the last 4 times it appeared on a General Election ballot.

Never been wrong to call people 'backward' when it comes to social issues like inter-racial marriage, religious freedom, freedom of speech/expression, technological aptitude, and scientific literacy. Same-sex marriage (and the acceptance of it) is no different.

There's nothing 'insane' about same sex marriage. First, no one has to have kids. Second, because denying marriage to same sex parents don't magically mean their children have opposite sex parents. It only guarantees that they never have married parents.

Which helps no one. And hurts these children. I refuse to hurt these kids because you don't like gay people.

As your proposal helps no one but hurts millions.
