The Department of Justice will release millions of dollars in funding for developing hate crime hotlines nationwide as the country grapples with its highest levels of such incidents in more than a decade.
The DOJ will oversee the creation of hotlines dedicated to receiving reports of hate crimes to help local police departments throughout the country prevent racially motivated violence in their communities. The initiative will also incentivize states to submit hate crime data to the FBI for its annual report, which is not currently required for local law enforcement agencies.
“Throughout our history, and to this day, hate crimes have a singular impact because of the terror and fear they inflict on entire communities,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement. “No one in this country should have to fear the threat of hate-fueled violence. The Justice Department will continue to use every resource at its disposal to confront unlawful acts of hate, and to hold accountable those who perpetrate them.”

Comment:
OK, helping people report hate crimes is a good thing.
Stopping hate crimes is a good goal.
However, the problem is how these far-left demagogues such as Garland and Biden exploit racially motivated hate crimes to incite more hate and fear for Democrat votes and how they ignore other obvious hate crimes.
Here are two recent examples.
The Democrats and the Press did not recognize Darrell Brook's attack on the Waukesha Christmas parade as a hate crime, or James Frank's NYC subway attack as a racially motivated hate crime.
It looks like the Democrats and the Press have a huge bias problem in recognizing racially motivated hate crimes because of their political motivations.
Garland is just playing more far left hate and fear politics, and not solving problems.

Wasting police time and effort.
What good is a call? You need "evidence" like a video, which doesn't require a phone call, duh.
More democrat "fake news".

People must realize it is okay to hate. Hate is a natural human defense mechanism. Acting on one's hate is another matter entirely, however good arguments can be made for that too. When did we begin to allow government to tell us how to feel?

Operator: This asshole refuses to use my preferred gender term, I want him arrested...

Operator: This is the _____ school board, we have domestic terrorists yelling at us and threatening us, we want them arrested.

Operator: This is Joe Biden, Ashley won't shower with me any more, I want her arrested.

When feeling replaced facts as the priority

The concept is likely well over the heads of many here, N_S.
