The Founders never envisioned a time where the President and their entire party would be lock-step and hellbent on bringing America down. Nor did they envision the added benefit of having the military and all branches of the Federal Government on board with the implosion. When all else would fail, the military was supposed to have saved us.

WonderwomanNot summed up things for me as well. Unless the conservative states can figure out how to break away into their own Union, I see little hope. I mean, what could hope even be based on? Just fantasy. Reps always lose. Have reps ever saved the day and that day turned into years and decades of reversal and salvation? The best that one can hope for is the reps get in and slow down the destruction.

These are not Tipp O'Neill's dems any longer. The reps never have figured that out, neither has the rep base. The rep base is always shocked how bad things can get...yet the dems still vote dem. It is no mystery, it is the Fetterman effect. All that is needed for support is a D or R after the name. Nothing else matters. That is the same effect that allows Trump to have supporters that will vote for him no matter what he does.

In the days of kinder and gentler politics, both parties were not that far apart in core values. Both parties believed baby murder was wrong, both parties were for the 2A and the rights to bear arms, both parties were for strong borders, both parties were against homosexual marriage, both parties didn’t believe an illegal alien was an American citizen, both parties were against legalized dope, both parties were centered around religious beliefs, traditional American values and morals, both parties believed in a thing called gender and that a man with a penis is not a woman, both parties were against socialism and communism.

Sure, they may have been some differences in these beliefs, but nothing like the black or white beliefs of today. All this started once TV stopped having opposing viewpoints on the politics. The news became balkanized and an echo chamber for their political party.

I first noticed this after Bill Moyer's retired and how his forum and PBS changed drastically. Well, we can see what has happened over the years. The reps have stayed more or less the same…long standing conservative traditional American values. The dems on the other hand have become wildly extreme with their beliefs. Beliefs so far off the scale that the dems will destroy America as we have known it if they are implemented. And the dems are stupendously skilled at the implementation of their destruction plans.

I'm old, I go back to the early 1950's. The dems have destroyed America more in the past 2-1/2 years than in my entire lifetime. I got no answers, but if America is not broken up, the writing is on the wall...perpetual dem rule and disarmament. Every 2 or 4 years America is on the chopping block. And dems got a chainsaw and reps are fithining them with a plastic spoon.

I can understand that federal employees should not be allowed to report classified content to members of Congress without certain safeguards in place. But not talk to the people's elected representatives about anything?

That certainly gives government far more power to censor and silence people than the Constitution intended.

I have my problems with Mitch McConnell and have at times criticized his positions on various things. But I think all Americans should be eternally grateful that he pretty much single handedly kept Merrick Garland off the Supreme Court.
