WASHINGTON (AP) — Matt Gaetz withdrew Thursday as President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general amid continued fallout over a federal sex trafficking investigation that cast doubt on his ability to be confirmed as the nation's chief federal law enforcement officer.
Those in Congress were then asked if they were going to pursue the allegations of sex-trafficking, however, Chuck Schumer said it was not likely. "If he is not going to be in Congress or Attorney General, what the hell do we care?" said Schumer. "Maybe he can find work at the border where this sort of stuff in lucrative and common place. Just know that we will just keep the report against Gaetz handy to use against the next Trump nominee, I mean, assuming he is guilty of this stuff as well, which I would say will probably be a 99% likelihood."
No word yet on who will be tarred and feathered to replace Gaetz, but Schumer and company will keep a close eye out to find the proper Swamp creature replacement. who is most qualified to fill it. "What an amateur!", yelled Schumer. "Why back in my day, my friend and collogue Barney Frank knew how to run prostitution rings while in Congress like a real pro, but Gaetz, he's an idiot, he is simply out of his league!"
