It has been said that the average great republic lasts about 200 years.
But....Lao Tzu noted that
“The flame that burns Twice as bright burns half as long.”

And so it has happened with America....about 150 years....now we've come to this.

Who can be surprised?

Even the NYTimes writes:

1. "Hillary Clinton may not be indicted on criminal charges over her handling of classified email, but the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, all but indicted her judgment and competence on Tuesday – two vital pillars of her presidential candidacy – and in the kind of terms that would be politically devastating in a normal election year."

This is really some piece.

"Mrs. Clinton’s campaign is built on the premise that she has the national security experience and well-honed instincts to keep Americans safe in the age of terrorism, and that Donald J. Trump does not. Nearly every day, she seeks to present herself as a more thoughtful and responsible leader.

She has spent months describing Mr. Trump as “reckless,” “unprepared” and “temperamentally unfit” to be president, and she has presented her four years as secretary of state and eight in the senate as unparalleled preparation for becoming commander in chief.

Yet in just a few minutes of remarks, Mr. Comey called into question Mrs. Clinton’s claims of superiority more memorably, mightily and effectively than Mr. Trump has over the past year. And with potentially lasting consequences."

2. Nor, any surprise at the response of the usual suspects...

"You girls should resign yourselves to the fact that Hilary is going to be your next president."
"What Has America Become?"

"Exactly !! Us guys are already resigned to it -- and glad of it by this point."
"What Has America Become?"

Wow.....
Clearly the number of IQ points remains constant, and must be divided by an ever increasing population.

3. "According to Director James Comey ... Hillary Clinton checked every box required for a felony violation of Section 793(f) of the federal penal code (Title 18): With lawful access to highly classified information she acted with gross negligence in removing and causing it to be removed it from its proper place of custody, and she transmitted it and caused it to be transmitted to others not authorized to have it, in patent violation of her trust. Director Comey even conceded that former Secretary Clinton was “extremely careless” and strongly suggested that her recklessness very likely led to communications (her own and those she corresponded with) being intercepted by foreign intelligence services. Yet, Director Comey recommended against prosecution of the law violations he clearly found on the ground that there was no intent to harm the United States."

4. "... in order to give Mrs. Clinton a pass, the FBI rewrote the statute, inserting an intent element that Congress did not require. The added intent element, moreover, makes no sense: The point of having a statute that criminalizes gross negligence is to underscore that government officials have a special obligation to safeguard national defense secrets; when they fail to carry out that obligation due to gross negligence, they are guilty of serious wrongdoing. The lack of intent to harm our country is irrelevant."

5. Will the reliable Democrat voters continue to act more like iron filings in a magnetic field than sentient human beings, Americans?

I'm certain that they will.

And so we see, once again, the sagacity of our national treasure.....Ann Coulter:

"Principle is nothing to liberals. Winning is everything."

The crazy loons have ensured she will win easily, although she is the weakest Democratic candidate since 1920.

The U.S. has descended into a 3rd world banana republic ruled by the oligarch's.

And they have chosen Hillita (Peron) Clinton to be the dictator.

As she sings, "Don't cry for me America".

"2015: DOJ Prosecutes A Naval Reservist For Mishandling Classified Info WITHOUT MALICIOUS INTENT
Less than one year ago, Assistant US attorneys Jean M. Hobler and Lee S. Bickley successfully prosecuted Naval Reservist Brian Nishimura in a strikingly similar case.

“Nishimura, however, caused the materials to be downloaded and stored on his personal, unclassified electronic devices and storage media,” wrote the FBI. “He carried such classified materials on his unauthorized media when he traveled off-base in Afghanistan and, ultimately, carried those materials back to the United States at the end of his deployment.”
Unlike Clinton, he was sentenced to two years of probation, a $7,500 fine, and forfeiture of personal media containing classified materials.

He was also “ordered to surrender any currently held security clearance and to never again seek such a clearance.”

Okay, but where do you get the "about 150 years" figure from?

How about a one for six trade and call it even?

Bush Pardons 6 in Iran Affair, Aborting a Weinberger Trial; Prosecutor Assails 'Cover-Up'

  • Six years after the arms-for-hostages scandal began to cast a shadow that would darken two Administrations, President Bush today granted full pardons to six former officials in Ronald Reagan's Administration, including former Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger.

Mr. Weinberger was scheduled to stand trial on Jan. 5 on charges that he lied to Congress about his knowledge of the arms sales to Iran and efforts by other countries to help underwrite the Nicaraguan rebels, a case that was expected to focus on Mr. Weinberger's private notes that contain references to Mr. Bush's endorsement of the secret shipments to Iran....

From the Declaration of Independence until the 32nd President, the man who cowed the Supreme Court, and wrote things like this:
In July 5, 1935, in a letter to Representative Samuel B. Hill of Washington, President Franklin Roosevelt manifested his contempt for the Constitution. Hill was chairman of the subcommittee studying the Guffey-Vinson bill to regulate the coal industry: the purpose of the legislation was to re-establish, for the coal industry, the NRA code system which the Supreme Court had unanimously declared unconstitutional. Roosevelt wrote: "I hope your committee will not permit doubts as to constitutionality, however reasonable, to block the legislation.

This was the same Roosevelt who had sworn an oath on his 300 year old family Bible, to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Manly, "The Twenty Year Revolution," p. 65.

Since so many self proclaimed conservatives believe the government of the United States is corrupt, one might think that they would have the balls to leave this land and seek religious and economic freedom somewhere else in the world. Imagine the courage it took to put oneself and their family aboard a wooden ship and cross the Atlantic centuries ago (I have in modern vessels and in crossing saw one other vessel in five days), a trip which took months, not days as it does today.

Pissing and moaning as does PoliticalChic about the US, going back to the Wilson Administration, seems at best odd that she would stay in a nation whose government (which can be changed by the people incrementally every two years) so offends her. Of course she is not alone, those who agree with her, and the hate and fear of her message, ought to get out and seek a land where they can take their ideology (I got mine, fuck the rest of you) with them.

Many expats live off shore, thought suggesting PC and others of her ilk are ex or were ever patriots is laughable.

So.....you imagine (I almost said 'think') the NYTimes is conservative???

But....pardon me for using your p;picture in post #16 without your permission.
Did I get your better profile?

I'm sorry, but is the OP really suggesting that our Republic is coming to an end because Hillary Clinton didn't get indicted for something nobody gets indicted for? For the same thing that Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell also did not get indicted for? Really? The end of our Republic?
