Observation: Trump’s calculated response marks a sweet reckoning for Qatar, a country that has long played a duplicitous game — pretending to be a neutral mediator while covertly ensuring Hamas remains entrenched in power. For years, Doha exploited its ties with Washington, banking on American patience. But following the decisive Operation Summit of Fire, Trump has turned the tables. His response signals that he's no longer buying Qatar’s act — and he's hitting back, all while keeping a diplomatic poker face. Of course, strategic realities like the U.S. airbase in Al-Udeid mean he won’t burn the bridge entirely — expect him to say he’s “disappointed,” but make no mistake: the message has been delivered.

So much for the so-called Abraham Accords.

Nobody in their right mind over there in that area of the world can or will ever trust conniving connivers again.

Of course, that's just an observation.

Trump’s last visit to Qatar took place on May 14–15, 2025.
During this visit, a massive $243.5 billion package was signed with Qatar, including a $96 billion deal for Qatar Airways to purchase 210 Boeing aircraft.

This was, in a sense, a form of tribute.

Trump also accepted an offer from the Qatari Emir for a luxurious Boeing 747-8 aircraft as a gift.

Qatar is maybe the richest country on earth.

It hosts the biggest US military base in the Middle East.
Qatar is smaller than Israel's territory, and it has 11 latest generation Patriot weapon systems manned by US soldiers.
Not enough to protect them against Israel.

Now we can pretend Qataris are some idiots or they are sophisticated enough to spawn the Nr.1 soft-power tool of the region like Al-Jazeera.

Going forward they'll spend 100s of billions of dollars on countries able to put Israel in its place. Sourced not by US defense industry, because US defense systems have a kill switch when İsrael is involved.

They're not people of the mindset to retaliate by themselves.
They're ultra-luxury sheikhs, and will cultivate proxies, backed by massive financial power.
Probably main beneficiaries will be Syria and Egypt.
