FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A resolution has been passed at Fresno City Hall that would give council members and the mayor a 69% pay raise.

"The ruling happened Thursday morning at Fresno City Hall with a 5-2 vote"

Ever been to Fresno? That city is something else. Besides all the AG it represents, it has it's problems. Murders, shootings and a shitload of guns.

What's really interesting is how the Fresno City Council voted themselves a 69% raise. That raise puts them on par with salaries of city council's in other CA cities like San Diego.

"Newly-elected council members would have their salary go from $80,000 a year to $135,000 a year"

"The mayor's salary would jump from $130,000 to $219,000 a year"

Sounds like they want some new blood.

Politicians voting themselves a pay raise. How big a city is Fresno? I don't believe it is a large as San Diego or LA is it?

California voters tolerate this, so it's going to keep happening.

Fresno has just over 500k compared to 1.5m in SD and 4m in LA proper. 12.5m in LA metro.

The point is that existing council members aren't getting the raise. Looks like a promotion for out of towners.
