I guess Saddam had not invaded other countries, was in perfect compliance with peace accords, and did not have a 20 year record of supporting terrorism.

He was no threat to the US.

Although I cannot say I fully agree with many of his proposals, I sense that the man has America's best interests at heart.

Frankly, there aren't many national POLS that I can say the same thing about.
