Fox News makes Obama Cry

It already has happened in the past. This is just the first time a WH has publicly stated it, which might turn out to be a mistake, but like I said before, I'm still glad they called 'em out. Even in this case, though, they've said they wouldn't totally freeze the network out under all circumstances. They've just said they won't consider it a news outlet on the same level as CNN or the major broadcast networks.

As for other networks defending FOX, I think it shouldn't be forgotten that FOX wasn't quite so generous with them when Bush was in office. Whenever we do have a more conservative admin in office weill FOX remember how others they previously bashed came to their defense? I won't be holding my breath.

Erik, with respect, you are an idiot. No Administration in history has treated one media outlet the way this Adminstration has treated Fox. That is a FACT. They have frozen out certain individuals - or refused to deal with one media outlet for a very short period but nothing like this Administration is doing to Fox.

BUSH DID THE SAME EXACT THING. Where was your outrage then?

Please prove how Pres. Bush excluded a major news network from a press poll interview because he didn't like that network?

He can't. Because Bush didn't do it. It's just that the libidiots are so used to saying 'but, but, but, Boooooooooosh' as an 'argument for everything that they can't break the habit. Just chalk it up to stupidity, and laugh at them.

Bravo Americano and Dude!! That about sums up this administration at this point. No other President in History has received the kind of submissive MSM Boot-Licking this President has received. Yet he whines incessantly about just a couple of MSM outlets who haven't bowed to lick his boots. Whiniest White House in History? You bet!

It is no accident you bring up "whiners". Your whiney threads and replies are the whiniest. Maybe you could pull with all your might and release yourself from the pathetic negativity and tell the good people of USMB what the neo con controlled GPO has done in the last 10 months and will do over the next 7 years and 2 months to benefit the citizens of America.

It shouldn't take long..I can't think of one thing. Surely you know of something...right??

WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
The Neo cons and the "GPO" WWWWWWWAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! What are they gonna do!!!?????

Indeed...it IS no accident you bring the subject of whiners up.....:cuckoo:

The White House is taking a beating due to its weak and snide battle with a news network.

And all the while, Fox's ratings continue to dominate...

The white house is taking a beating? Really...

oh and 99% of americans dont watch fox. (I was told its 95%, and I am checking those numbers, but either way, most americans are not idiots who watch that tripe.)

Woohoo.

Tell that to Media Bistro dumb ass!!!! and Neilson Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haha ha ha

It isn't splitting hairs. However much you regurgitate crap does not make that crap true. Bush did fall out with the NYT and NBC.... and they publically threw dirt at each other. What Bush did not do was to make public pronouncements about either, he did not continually refuse interviews etc with either. He DID on occasion punish both with short refusals - that is not the same thing that the Obama idiots are doing.

Bush continually refused interviews with the NYT.

And again, you're splitting hairs.

No, he didn't. He refused certain journalists - and not on an ongoing basis. Nor did he make the kind of public statements that Obama's borgs have about Fox. No POTUS, and certainly no WH comms team has been as completely ******* stupid as Anita, Rahm et al. These guys honestly think they should control the media. If you do not see that as a HUGE problem, then you are an ass.

:clap2:

It's scary that Obama used the power of the white house because he can't control one news network.

At least he has greatly increased Fox's ratings in his quest for total control.

Actually Fox news has the 2nd highest ratings of all cable networks. Number one is USA, which isn't a news network.

Cnn is 23rd :eusa_whistle:

Your Avatar is rediculous. Until the dictator wannabe Obama Sean Hannity has no political power. He is only a commentator.

What does that have to do with Golden Calf Obama using the power of the WH to try and demonize a news network?

Focus please.

Of course, the ******* liberal media are going to back Fox. They are not completely stupid - despite evidence to the contrary. They know - as should anyone with even average intellect - that this Administration will last 4 years - maybe 8, but eventually there will be a new team in the Administration. If they sit by and watch Fox get frozen out, what is to stop it happening to them in the future?

Only if it's a ******* big hair, idiot.

I am not going to keep explaining this to the terminally stupid so.... For the last time:

Each Administration has fallen out with particular media outlets or certain journalists. Traditionally, the Administration has cut them off for a short period - a week, maybe two weeks. That is considered part of the 'game' between the Administration and the press. It is accepted by both sides as reasonable - action, reaction, then they move on.

What has not happened is for an Administration to think it is okay to continually badmouth and freeze out one organization. That is what Obama is doing. It's not a tit for tat thing anymore, it is a sustained attack by an Administration who thinks they can beat the press.

That is not only seriously stupid for the Administration. It shows them as thugs - even the other news outlets are concerned about this behavoir. Hence their support for Fox over the recent interviews where the Admin tried to refuse Fox. The other outlets all said 'no Fox, no interviews' - why do you think they did that? Because they love Fox? No. They did it because they know that this Administration will be gone one day and next time they might be the one frozen out permanently. Use your ******* brain, idiot.

Totenberg: Bush White House 'More Like the Mob' in Freezing Out Media Outlets
By: Brent Baker
October 24, 2009 10:12 ET

Discussing the Obama White House's quest to discredit and banish the Fox News Channel, NPR's Nina Totenberg declared going “on the offensive publicly against Fox was not too bright” and she recalled how, in contrast, the Bush White House “just cut people dead, it froze them out, you know it froze whole institutions out, didn't talk about it.”

Putting it in the most-nefarious light, she charged on the weekly Inside Washington: “It was much more like the Mob.” Seemingly ruing Team Obama's miscue in not matching the Bush method, Totenberg asserted that “when you talk about it, you diminish your influence.”

Totenberg, on Inside Washington, first aired Friday night on Washington, DC's PBS station:

People in administrations make short-term decisions, and I think the one to sort of go on the offensive publicly against Fox was not too bright. Now, the Bush White House did that, it just cut people dead, it froze them out, you know it froze whole institutions out, didn't talk about it. It was much more like the Mob. When you talk about it, you diminish your influence.

I have consistently said that other Administrations have 'frozen out individuals and outlets'. Fact remains, though, this Administration has overstepped the boundaries that have been upheld by both the media and previous Administrations. Bush froze out, as have other Administrations, but not to the ridiculous extent that Obama has. He has kicked down the long standing boundary that exists. That is bad for the media - all of them, hence their support for Fox, it is bad for the Administration, and, most importantly, it is bad for the American people.

Fact is, with media bias, an Administration can afford to freeze out one left leaning outlet - there are others to carry the message. The same is not true the other way around. Fox are the only right leaning media source. For this Administration to behave this way to the one broadcaster that talks to the right, is narrowminded and childish to say the least.

I know MRC well. They are one of the most legitimate sources of information - I use them constantly in my job.

Yes, I know who they are - they are a legitimate SOURCE OF INFORMATION. There are left leaning legitimate SOURCES OF INFORMATION too! If you use both, you get a reasonably balanced picture around 'news', and 'issues'. Christ on a bike, you are so completely off the hook that it is impossible to get any level of debate.

I can't debate with you if you don't grasp simple principles - like sources of information, bias, balance, etc.

Are you saying pro wrestlers aren't athletes? And have ever watched StudioB, The Live Desk, Special Report or America's Newsroom? I doubt it, you see clips of Hannity and Beck and you (like the rest of the idiots) believe this is how all of Fox news is. Fact is there is a lot of "news" reporting on Fox but you can't get past the opinion shows to see it. Get your head out Obama's ass every once in a while and take a deep breath of sanity.

I fail to see how reporting what Nina Totenberg said is a bias. Is Mz. Totenburg a conservative? That is a NO. Try liberal.

Pro wrestlers are the best athletes steroids can buy... BUT, the point is not whether they are athletes, but pro wrestling portrays matches as legitimate, when the moves are choreographed and the outcome is predetermined...

Fox DOES report news, but their focus and mix are slanted and bias...it's hard for you right wing pea brains to understand nuances ...I'm surprised you're able to cross a street without getting creamed...
