Fox News Calls Mr. Rogers Evil

Fox News Calls Mr. Rogers An Evil Man | Prose Before Hos

Little did I know, Mr. Rogers was an evil man. By telling children they’re special just for being who they are, he helped create this generation of worthless, lazy socialists who think they’re entitled to health care… at least according to Fox News.

They actually use the word “evil” to describe Mr. Rogers and criticize him for his “optimistic message where everyone was special even if they didn’t deserve it”, which is “ruining kids with a sense of entitlement.” Then one of them starts babbling about how children should go back to churning butter and making their own sweaters. Fox’s Brian Kilmeade said “that man unintentionally did a whole generation or two a disservice.” Only on Fox could a man who spent his life dedicated to public service and education be blamed for ruining generations of Americans.

What a knee-slapper, huh? Fucking Fox "News" ...
FOX & freinds is a frivilous morning show, NOT 'FOX news.' :cuckoo:

You really shouldn't take your opinions from a blog.

True. But they are both run by the same people. They both represent fox.

"Sesame Street" and "The Electric Company" rocked. The evidence is rock solid that you are clearly a right wing fascist. ;)

 Am not!

Clearly I'm getting no sympathy from people here. You must either be of my mom's generation or my brothers age, because if you were my age, you would have hated all three of them, just like me. The nerve of PBS!! Putting Sesame Street on at the same time as Speed Racer!!! There is a special place in Hell for the programmer that thought that up.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

See, I grew up with three brothers and they always watched Speed Racer (and the freaking Three Stooges). I'm no fan of those shows for the same reason. But, to this day, I know the theme song to Speed Racer. Crap...now that tune is in my head.

'Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer. He's a demon on ..........'

Shit. Fascist torture, I tell ya.

Kimba the White Lion was obviously racist...

Mr. Rogers gave me the creeps. Seriously.

Me too. He was of that unctuous type that you were sure your mom was warning your about when she said don't take candy from strangers. Saccharine and disrespectful. I hated the goofy start at the beginning. The weird routine about the sweater was the clue that it was time for the TV to go off.

I never had to deal with it, but millions of kids did. And his awful "Can you say 'smarmy', I knew you could" bit must have inspired desire for murder in all of them.

I loved speed racer as a kid, but I just can't seem to put the new movie that came out last year, I think, on my Netflix list. The trailers looked atrocious.

You should listen to the disclaimers that are broadcast...

You know, the ones that specifically say that the views expressed do not represent those of the company...

That would require a brain, of course, so you're a bit handicapped in that department...

lol

Yes they do...

Do sports programs have disclaimers that the program is about sports instead of News?

Fox and Friends is a morning chat "light current events" type of program. Anyone who has ever seen it recognizes the genre.

Interesting. I did not know that.

I don't know why - can't put my finger on it - but he still gave me the creeps.

It's the slow talking.

That's the way people talk to mentally disabled people and negotiate with hostage takers.

Which is why I hated it so much. It was the assumption that the audience was slow witted.

It gave me the creeps as well - especially the King Friday puppet. The Burger King is like a giant King Friday Pervert.

Its seems there is a pattern here.

People who turned out to be cons did not like Mr Rogers.
Don't you be lumping me in with that blanket statement Truthipoo. I liked him fine. I think he was the mother very few kids had. Yes mother. He offered caring and support and education that disadvantaged kids may never have received otherwise. That said, I think his purveyed 'soft style' on parenting was sometimes way too far gone leaving kids lacking some tools to handle realities of life. But he's a TV show host playing to his audience metric AND staying inside the theme of the show: educating kids on various sundries of society, little crafts, and trying to teach children some basic good ethics in an entertainment program that was safe for any child willing to watch. It's not a parenting too... it's a limited scope baby sitter at best.

That said, if there is one person here posting that was Fred Rogers target audience, I think mommy needs to take away your internet privileges for a while.

I wonder how Mr Rogers would have done as POTUS?

Let's see, addressing Congress, State of the Union Address, etc..........the visions are many and making me dizzy.

I hated his show!

If I remember correctly, it came on at the same time as Speed Racer and my little brother liked Mr. Rogers and what my little brother wanted to watch he got to watch. If it wasn't Speed Racer it was something else I liked to watch.

So, I might just have to agree with Fox on this. :D

Funny, you would mention that. I asked my wife the night before last if she remembered that program. I had seen the trailer of Ironman 2 and it made me think of Ultraman.

Ultraman is to our generation as the Power Rangers are to current generations. Both were/are low-budget Japanese shows ala Godzilla . . . but kids love em!
