Making America Great......
My ass
Making America Great......
My ass
I'm sure US Steel would disagree dipshit.
US Steel a big winner after tariffs boost prices
Where do massive artificial controls by the big fed gubmint, propping up a noncempetitive industry at the expense of competitive ones, fit into your definition of capitalism?Yeah steel wins, every industry that buys steel loses. Also, steel doesn’t win all that much.
Well dipshit. That's capitalism.
Disagree with your premise. The foreign steel dumping/overproduction is subsidized by foreign governments, i.e. not capitalism or fair trade. Buy American is a good idea even if it takes tariffs to level the playing field. The US steel industry is competitive considering the environmental costs and union labor costs compared to slave labor rates abroad. The US needs a healthy steel and aluminum industry.Where do massive artificial controls by the big fed gubmint, propping up a noncompetitive industry at the expense of competitive ones, fit into your definition of capitalism?Yeah steel wins, every industry that buys steel loses. They punish themselves and we benefit. Now we are punishing ourselves. There’s a reason the EU has a lower GDP than us despite having double the population. Tariffs and subsidies being a major part of it.Disagree with your premise. The foreign steel dumping/overproduction is subsidized by foreign governments, i.e. not capitalism or fair trade. Sorry but high sulfur steel is crap. That is what American made steel is.US steel is likely the best produced steel in the world too. With my hobby, those in the know want American made.
The strength of steel is determined by standards set by the ASTM. Most all American steel is high in sulfur which makes it softer than others.Which is why it's the strongest and most well forged and pure steel in the world.
No, government lowered minimum spec requirements in most construction for Chinese special interests, which is why buildings are made quite frail with low load capacities today. That's why balconies in modern theaters and upper dining rooms in modern catering halls seat so few people. It’s so great it need massive artificial controls by the big fed gubmint to make up for the total lack of demand for itWhich is why it's the strongest and most well forged and pure steel in the world.

Oh so you’re saying the government needs to interfere even MORE to make the total lack of demand for American steel go up. Hmm. It’s like a business losing tons of money on one particular product, and instead of dropping it demanding that the government force people to buy it.No, government lowered minimum spec requirements in most construction for Chinese special interests, which is why buildings are made quite frail with low load capacities today. When you weld steel we use the term soft in regards to how easily it bends. Also in regards to how easily it can be upset, also known as compressed. These factors determine which electrode to use and whether you weld uphill or down for vertical weldments. The strength of steel is determined by standards set by the ASTM. Softness is not tensile strength or compression strength. Softness is how easy it grinds and scratches. This is why stone is used to grind metal.
Please stop lying via misdirection, thanks.
Building codes have been in place since ancient Egypt. Even Hammurabi's code punished engineers who made faulty buildings.Oh so you’re saying the government needs to interfere even MORE to make the total lack of demand for American steel go up. Hmm. Duh, now American steel companies can compete and lower the price of steel as we will make our ownFord Ratchets Up Rebuke of Trump Tariffs as Steel Costs Rise
Ford Motor Co. said Donald Trump’s tariffs have made steel more expensive in the U.S. than any other market, escalating the company’s criticism of the president’s trade war.
“U.S. steel costs are more than anywhere else in the world,” Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of global operations, said Monday at an event marking the start of Ranger pickup production at a factory west of Detroit. He added that Ford is talking to the administration about the tariffs: “We tell them that we need to have competitive costs in our market in order to compete around the world.”
Ford Chief Executive Officer Jim Hackett last month called on President Donald Trump’s administration to resolve trade disputes quickly, warning that they would otherwise do more damage to the second-largest American automaker. He said the company sustained a roughly $1 billion hit to profit despite the fact that it sources most of its metals from the U.S.
But, hey, liberal labor unions love this protectionist shit our New York limousine liberal Presidents has enacted.
