That is true. But it's a damn good place to start. And eliminating a worthless debt ceiling that Congress will ALWAYS raise every time these things come up and will add billions in pork while they're at it when they do it, would also probably be a very wise thing. Without that opportunity to increase spending every few months, it would give Trump and DOGE and what reformers there are in Congress some breathing room to make a difference.

It is mostly that the bill doesn't cut spending. He's savvy enough to know the debt ceiling is just a good excuse for a congressional fight every few months and it will be raised every time they have one along with a lot of additional pork crammed into the bill. He's a really REALLY good guy, but I think he's picking the wrong hill to stand on and defend this time.
