The very sad reality is in any other era in the US than this one trump might have the support of 15% of the electorate. It's impossible to attribute that to one thing. The best explanation is the US (and the world) is going through a phase of fear and anxiety driven by economic uncertainty, a demographic shift, and the pace of change. Things that make someone who claims "he alone can fix it" attractive to the fearful and weak minded.

People who support President Trum45/47 are looking for the real hope and change that other politicians gave lip service to.

We know that he can do it.
He has already done it.

Obama, Clinton, Biden and Harris are seen by normal voters as the fear mongers.

Just as trump declined to distance himself from the comedian's slander of PR you haven't made a convincing argument as to why the accusation of supporting a man with clear authoritarian goals for his next admin doesn't merit you being labeled a supporter of some fascist principles.
