I'm even more shocked that Big Mouth Bass Fishing is not #1!
I'd rather watch womens billards than stare at someone telling me how to put bait in the water.

As a fan of neither, I'd rather watch either one than a bunch of whinging overpaid kneelers.
didn't watch a single game and am not watching the playoffs.

and it sucks b/c the Eagles are in

I have only been exposed to a few minutes of the NFL this year when dining out at a couple of local restaurants that have tellies in their bar areas. But that is quite easy to ignore.

You English?

25% English.

100% American Mutt.

And it's not even close.

When asked by Gallup, America chose football.

Football 37%
Basketball 11%
Baseball 9%
Soccer 7%
Hockey 4%

The survey was taken on December 4-11, 2017

Football Still Americans' Favorite Sport to Watch

The Football stats are misleading since they include College.

PRO Football is down 10% according to your link...

Fifty-seven percent of Americans said they were fans of professional football, down 10 percentage points from the previous time the question was asked, in December 2012. Support for most other sports, including college football, had not changed meaningfully during the same five-year span.

And PRO football dropped a whopping 2% from 2013!

Though football retains its top spot, its popularity has slipped since peaking at 43% in 2006 and 2007. In 2008, it dipped slightly to 41% and dropped again to 39% in 2013 -- the last time the question was asked before the December 2017 poll and its 37% reading.

But I do appreciate you confirming that college football is, indeed, "football!"

Meh....I don't think it means anything. Take me, I am still a fan of the game. But I rarely watch the games.

Why? Too many penalties, too many reviews, takes 3 hours to watch a game with only 12 minutes of action! It's a huge waste of time, especially when I can watch the relevant highlights of every single game played in less than 5 minutes.

THAT is a problem for all "spectator" sports. The kneeling is a just a bonus reason for tuning out.....

For viewing on TV my choice would be NFL football.

For attending in person, I'd pick baseball and hockey. Especially the far more affordable minor league variety of each.

Of all our local teams: Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Coyotes and the Arizona State Sun Devils the only games I can view on local TV are the Cardinals games. All others are on cable channels which I dropped last year and do not want back.
