Flu surges in Louisiana as health department barred from promoting flu shotsFlu is rising around the country, but Louisiana is well ahead

When large numbers of people were dying of Covid, it was obvious to anyone paying attention that the number of healthy people under 65 who were dying was quite low. In fact, I read an article at the time - since suppressed - calculating the number of "lost years" due to Covid, and it was quite small. In other words, if some sickly old bastard with a statistical life expectancy of six months died of Covid...so what? Not to be heartless but when looking at the impact to society of such a death - compared to a gainfully-employed head of household - it is negligible. Not all lives matter equally, as a matter of public interest. In fact, my own life is relatively worthless, since I'm supporting no one and my main functions, economically speaking, are collecting Social Security and blowing through my son's inheritance.

Despite numerous suggestions that I do so, I have declined to get a flu shot, or the booster for shingles (I did have chicken pox as a child). No particular principle involved, I just usually get sick from immunizations and I don't want to be bothered.

Newsflash.... it is flu season....

A "flu shot" is not a vaccine. It works for some, not all.

To call a "flu shot" a "vaccine" is to lie. They are two different things.

There was no "vaccine" for Covid 19 because Covid 19 was a flu. Anyone who doesn't understand that is completely lost.
:lmao:

Flu shot: Your best bet for avoiding influenza

Getting a flu shot will often protect you from a serious case of the flu. And although the flu shot doesn't always provide total protection, it's worth getting.
By Mayo Clinic Staff

Flu, also called influenza, is an infection of the nose, throat and lungs, which are part of the respiratory system. The flu is caused by a virus. Most people with the flu get better on their own. But influenza can cause serious complications for some groups of people.

Getting a flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu and its complications for almost everyone. The flu vaccine can lower the risk of getting the flu. It also can lower the risk of having serious illness from the flu and needing to stay in the hospital or dying of the flu.

This year's seasonal flu vaccines each provide protection against three influenza viruses that researchers expect to be most common this flu season.

I have no trouble with being against mandates. But I have no problem with businesses making the rules on vaccines for their workers. Don't get the vax, but you don't dictate to the employer,.
That’s fine. It is a slippery slope since vaccines don’t stop the spread. But I am libertarian when it comes to private companies

Louisiana banned its public health entities from recommending vaccines. Shockingly its way ahead of the country in flu and MPOX. Thoughts?

Flu season is ramping up across the US, but Louisiana—the state that has reportedly barred its health department from promoting flu shots, as well as COVID-19 and mpox vaccines—is leading the country with an early and strong surge.

Louisiana's flu activity has reached the "Very High" category set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to the latest data. The 13-category scale is based on the percentage of doctor's visits that were for influenza-like illnesses (ILIs) in the previous week. Louisiana is at the first of three "Very High" levels. Oregon is the only other state to have reached this level. The rest of the country spans the scale, with 13 jurisdictions at "High," including New York City and Washington, DC. There are 11 at "Moderate," 10 at "Low," and 19 at "Minimal."
Last week, NPR, KFF Health News, and New Orleans Public Radio WWNO reported that the state had forbidden the health department and its workers from promoting annual flu shots, as well as vaccines for COVID-19 and mpox. The policy was explicitly kept quiet and officials have avoided putting it in writing.
Trumpy is making Louisiana great again.

Notice how the irrational and hysterical anti-vaxxers have all shut their chattering mouths, now that the mortality of baby boys after circumcision at 20 in 1,000,000 has been revealed to them. About 100 baby boys die in the United States each year as a result of circumcision surgery (involuntary genital mutilation).

Yes, it's a shame more people don't know this.

I understand why they don't want to advertise this information though.

Thanks for the reminder, you may have saved a life.

Why would you go to the doctor for the Flu?

Can't say but I remember '72 because I got it on Christmas Eve.....If a shot helps me from getting it again I'm fine with it as that bout kicked my young ass.....I was in bed a week over that shit and weak as a kitten.
Ah well that makes sense. If I had been wiped out with flu I may have changed my mind on the flu vaccine.

15th post
biden is president, so.
.

I think it's a pretty cool trick, to not even be a president, yet use presidential tools to Make America Great Again.

I feel so sorry for the leftists who will have to suffer through so much safety and prosperity.
