Louisiana banned its public health entities from recommending vaccines. Shockingly its way ahead of the country in flu and MPOX. Thoughts?

Flu season is ramping up across the US, but Louisiana—the state that has reportedly barred its health department from promoting flu shots, as well as COVID-19 and mpox vaccines—is leading the country with an early and strong surge.

Louisiana's flu activity has reached the "Very High" category set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to the latest data. The 13-category scale is based on the percentage of doctor's visits that were for influenza-like illnesses (ILIs) in the previous week. Louisiana is at the first of three "Very High" levels. Oregon is the only other state to have reached this level. The rest of the country spans the scale, with 13 jurisdictions at "High," including New York City and Washington, DC. There are 11 at "Moderate," 10 at "Low," and 19 at "Minimal."
Last week, NPR, KFF Health News, and New Orleans Public Radio WWNO reported that the state had forbidden the health department and its workers from promoting annual flu shots, as well as vaccines for COVID-19 and mpox. The policy was explicitly kept quiet and officials have avoided putting it in writing.

this is what happens when you prioritize POLITICS over public health

Public health experts 'horrified'

Health advocates and experts immediately condemned the department's new approach after it was revealed on Friday.

In a statement on Friday, Jennifer Herricks, founder of the advocacy organization Louisiana Families for Vaccines wrote that she was "horrified" by the change and that the state health department is "putting politics ahead of the health of our residents."

The change will "lead to a sharp increase in disease outbreaks, resurgence of diseases that have been nearly eliminated, and a further erosion in trust" of vaccines," she wrote.

Oh know the Flu is urging during Influenza season, it's unprecedented.

If you had looked at the article moron instead of taking stupid pop shots you would have noticed that Oregon is also in the Very High category.

Oregon is PROMOTING the flu shot. Louisiana is NOT.

Oregon is promoting flu shots, and the state's health authority recommends that everyone 6 months and older get vaccinated.

Your source says 'technically', a description that is not quantified or qualified.

However, the Cajun population has always been the weak sister of healthy minorities.

Is Fraudci still around?

I'll take the flu over Fraudci's vax any day of the week.

And twice on Sundays.
