You know how the subsidy works don't you? If you owe taxes they take it out of the subsidy. If you owe back child support, the subsidy goes to the custodial parent. While the premiums are paid every month, the subsidy is paid, less taxes because the subsidy itself is taxable income, less any thing you might owe, yearly.

The subsidy is a shell game, you get snookered every time. Why do people continue to believe?

I'm actually not sure how the subsidy works and am curious. Someone I know here in Wisconsin says he can't afford O-care because he'd be required to pay the premiums up front but the subsidy would come as a tax refund later, and he can't afford the up front.

I've been curious about the subsidies since then.

Will they be paid the same for everyone? Every policy? Every state?
